When does Yellowjackets season 2 premiere? Release date, cast, and more
By Taylor Gates
Yellowjackets season 1 ended its run last Sunday — and it went out with a bang, with some unexpected characters dying and some even more unexpected characters revealed to be alive. But will there be a Yellowjackets season 2? If so, when can we expect it? Keep reading to find out!
When will Yellowjackets season 2 premiere?
Lucky for us, it’s looking like we won’t have to wait too long for a second season! Showtime president of entertainment Gary Levine expressed to Vulture that he would like to have the show on an annual cycle, meaning having the new season premiere at the same time every year. Considering season 1 premiered in November 2021, we can expect season 2 around November 2022.
Who will be in Yellowjackets season 2?
It’s a safe bet that the core four will continue to appear, both in the present in the past. These characters include Melanie Lynskey and Sophie Nélisse as Shauna, Tawny Cypress and Jasmin Savoy Brown as Taissa, Juliette Lewis and Sophie Thatcher as Natalie, and Christina Ricci and Sammi Hanratty as Misty.
It was also revealed in the finale that [spoiler!] Lottie is still alive in the current year, and we’re excited to see who they’ll cast as her adult counterpart alongside Courtney Eaton.
What will Yellowjackets season 2 be about?
There are so many questions that season 1 left unanswered. Who was the victim of cannibalism in the pilot episode? What is Lottie up to? Will there be repercussions for Shauna killing Adam — and the rest of the women helping her cover it up? (We’re still not entirely convinced he’s not connected to this in a bigger way somehow. And we’re definitely not convinced the secret is safe with Shauna and Jeff’s daughter Callie, who has her suspicions about what her parents are up to.)
