Disney Plus Moon Knight: Did Marc Spector kill Layla’s father?

There is more to Marc Spector than he’s revealing. In the latest episode of Moon Knight, we learn that Layla’s deceased father was an archaeologist.

But even she doesn’t know the full story. Marc does, and so does Arthur Harrow apparently.

Arthur Harrow insinuated to Layla that Marc had something to do with her father’s death. Marc is quick to brush it off assuring Layla that Arthur is trying to get in her head.

She doesn’t believe him but decides not to question him further about it. According to our theory, Marc did kill her father.

Marc Spector is hiding some key information from Layla about the death of her father on Moon Knight.

The questions we have are why and how? If we backtrack to episode two “Summon the Suit”, Steven Grant is arrested by who he thought were two police officers.

They were actually members of Arthur Harrow’s cult. On the way to the cult, they show Steven images of dead archaeologists who were supposedly killed by Marc Spector.

The images cause Steven to be scared of Marc in which he refuses to allow him control. But Steven, like the audience, doesn’t know the full story.

If we’re being honest, it’s probably a lot more complicated than it appears. Marc’s skills are deadly and efficient, there is no question about it.

But we think one of three scenarios is happening. Either Marc Spector was once a ruthless, coldblooded mercenary who killed anyone who got in his way, which includes Layla’s father.

Or Marc had to kill those archaeologists, perhaps due to their connection to Arthur Harrow or someone worse, including Layla’s father. Lastly, Marc is being setup for the deaths of the archaeologists which include Layla’s father.

All the same, we believe Layla’s father was killed before she met Marc. Judging by his reaction to Arthur Harrow’s accusation and the fact he will not talk to Layla about it, we’re thinking he had some kind of involvement with his death.

He hasn’t told Layla and probably never wanted to fearing she’d never forgive him. Even though Marc and Layla are signed papers away from a divorce, their feelings for each other haven’t wavered.

There is no doubt Layla is going to learn the truth but what will become of her and Marc’s relationship when she does?
