Where is Michonne from AMC’s The Walking Dead?
Collectively The Walking Dead has some of the most memorable, relatable, and powerful characters of any TV series. One such character has been missing from the show since season 10.
Yes, we’re talking about the leader, mother, and loyal partner of Rick Grimes, Michonne. Played by the very talented Danai Gurira (TV series Treme, film Black Panther), Michonne first arrived on The Walking Dead way back during the season 2 finale episode “Beside the Dying Fire” as Andrea’s rescuer and later best friend.
While Rick and the others were very distrustful of her in the beginning, her natural strength, wisdom, and all-around personality won them over. She fit in well, building a strong friendship with Carl and then Rick.
She, like so many others on the show, had her fair share of tragedy with the loss of her baby boy Andre and the punishment she served her boyfriend and his friend in response. Her bond with Rick grew from that of a very equal friendship to a loving relationship.
Where do you think Michonne is currently on The Walking Dead?
We’re talking the kind of love people hope to find even once in their lifetime. A love so strong we can only imagine the heartbreak she must have continuously felt when Rick disappeared.
She was already a leader for Alexandria, mother to Judith and had a child on the way. A child Rick Grimes has yet to meet.
So, when the opportunity came to follow the first lead to Rick in literal years, she had to take it. Even if it meant leaving Judith and R.J temporarily behind and in the care of Daryl.
Since her final episode we haven’t heard anything about her whereabouts within the show itself. Unfortunately, we have not heard anything officially.
Not even a rumor. We took a quick peek over onto IMDb.com but Danai’s roster has her reprising her role of General of the Dora Milaje, Okoye in the upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever film and the planned Untitled Wakanda Project TV series.
Of course, this doesn’t mean she can’t make a surprising return in the last part of season 11. Fans are still hoping Rick Grimes will make at least one appearance before the anticipated and planned films.
We’re hoping that somehow Michonne will find Rick and the two will somehow emerge in season 11. Until then we’ll continue to keep our eyes and ears open.
