Netflix’s Bridgerton season 3 will begin filming this summer and already audiences are excited to see if Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton will finally get together. Penelope has remained a strong and loyal friend to Colin hoping that he would one day confess his love to her.

However, Colin seems to be stuck in the past, still thinking of a now-married Marina and reflecting on his time spent traveling abroad. Penelope remained busy writing away as Lady Whistledown but in a worst-case scenario, her best friend Eloise Bridgerton uncovered her secret.

While many assumed season 3 would focus on Benedict Bridgerton finding love, one person knew it would instead be about Penelope and Colin. Costume designer Sophie Canale revealed to PEOPLE during a costume installation for Netflix’s FYSEE Experience that Penelope’s green-hued dress in episode 4 “Victory” alluded to something fans have suspected.

“Canale teased that Penelope’s green dress was meant to subtly reveal that season 3 would be about Penelope and Colin’s love story which Netflix recently confirmed this week.” This isn’t the first time we’ve seen these kind of hints on the series.

What does Penelope’s dress color signify in Bridgerton season 2?

In the same article, “She (Canale) added that the combining of Penelope and Colin’s family colors was similar to how Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor)’s blue color palette changed following her marriage to Simon (Regé-Jean Page) in season 1, who is often shown in red.” If we think about it, Penelope’s dresses were usually different types of a yellow color.

We saw Penelope wear the green-hued dress in season 2 along with colors like peach and faint red or light pink. Did you pick up on that Easter egg in Bridgerton season 2?

What other clues do you think were hidden in plain sight?
