Will we be seeing Annie again on The Walking Dead?

The final season of The Walking Dead has thrown some curveballs but none that really split the Negan fanbase in half like that of his current relationship status. On The Walking Dead season 11 episode 13 “Warlords” Negan returns after leaving Maggie and the group upon the defeat of The Reapers.

Worried that Maggie would not keep her word, Negan decidedly leaves. He returns once again to save our heroes and his community from the corrupt Commonwealth soldiers per Lance Hornsby’s orders.

The series has yet to explain how Negan found or was found by the community Riverbend, led by a religiously intense and distrusting Ian. Yes, you read correctly.

Negan is not the leader of Riverbend. While there he met, fell in love with and married a woman named Annie.

Will we see Negan’s wife Annie again on The Walking Dead?

On top of that she’s pregnant! This news utterly disgusts the likes of Maggie and Aaron whereas Lydia is simply surprised.

But Negan proudly admits to it all while showing off his wedding band to the group. That smile, spoke volumes.

Don’t even get us started on the body language between Negan and Annie. Annie’s pregnancy reveal to Maggie allowed her to explain that she is aware of Negan’s past and loves him anyway.

As the situation unfolds, Maggie is coming to terms with the fact that Negan has changed. The two groups come together to rescue the Riverbend survivors while keeping The Commonwealth soldiers at bay.

But the threat is far from over. While Maggie may finally view Negan in a new light, her son Hershel is a different story.

Some fans were displeased to see Negan married and preparing to be a father. Some found it insulting to Maggie.

Others found it disappointing that Negan and Annie’s relationship happened off screen. Some are probably unsure how to feel.

Annie, played by Medina Senghore (TV series Happy! and the post-production TV movie Real Live Girl), appears in three episodes from The Walking Dead season 11 Part 2. While we knew Negan will survive the series, we were worried about Annie’s fate.

We did a little research on one of our favorite websites, IMDB to discover that Annie is expected to appear in five more episodes, including the series finale. Just because she will appear in the series finale doesn’t guarantee her fate one way or the other.

We have theorized that when Negan and Maggie venture to New York in their upcoming spin-off Isle of the Dead that Annie will stay behind to watch over her unborn child and Hershel. Even though nothing has been officially confirmed, we are remaining hopeful that Annie and Negan will have a very long and beautiful future together.

The Walking Dead has proven some characters both good and bad can change for the better. People deserve second chances.

People commit horrible acts. People are doing what is necessary to survive.

The Negan of season 11 is not the same one we watch murder Abraham and Glenn. Maggie realizes that.

This is not the man with a community under his rule, several “Wives” at his disposal, and a need to prove himself. This is now a man trying to live with his past actions who is lucky enough to get a second chance.

Something he probably never thought he’d ever have.
