For fans of The Walking Dead (myself included), it’s been difficult to accept that the iconic and influential series is coming to a close. It’s quite literally become a cultural phenomenon that should end on a good note while it still can.

While I would have preferred one more season to truly develop the countless plots that are occurring all at once, (not to mention allowing other characters more screentime), I can easily rewatch the series from the beginning and reminisce how far it has come.

With Part 3 of season 11 coming up, we’re curious how the series will conclude. We already know the likes of Daryl, Negan, and Maggie surviving (thankfully) thanks to the announcements of their Walking Dead spinoffs but what about the rest of the cast?

Will The Walking Dead have a happy ending, a sad one, or leave it up in the air as the apocalypse is a very unpredictable time to be alive? Well, the first images have been released which may tell fans a thing or two about what to expect.

What do the first images of The Walking Dead Part 3 say about the final episodes of the series?

EW shared three images; one depicting Commonwealth soldiers at night at what appears to be the same train car depot when Eugene and his group originally get captured upon trying to meet Stephanie, another depicts Daryl and what looks like Aaron in the midst of a tense conversation, and the third is of Carol baking but looking at someone rather suspiciously.

If a picture is worth a thousand words than it’s safe to assume that retribution from Lance Hornsby for failing to capture and kill Maggie and Negan and Anne’s community is coming full force. Not to mention Daryl and Aaron will be in tough spots as Daryl aided Maggie and Aaron was the voice at Alexandria before Lance took control.

Carol has been donning the suburb housewife disguise since the group first arrived at Alexandria hoping to fool others. It looks as though everyone will be playing games with each other, trying to figure out who knows what, who is on which side, and how they will survive.

At this point The Commonwealth has been battling issues amongst unhappy citizens and inner, basically illegal dealings with Lance and Governor Milton’s son Sebastian. We look forward to hearing more about the final episodes and the final trailer.
