There are a lot of Marvel Studios television series arriving on the Disney Plus streaming service in the near future. From the likes of Loki season 2 and Daredevil: Born Again, to ECHO and Ironheart.

Ironheart in particular is getting a lot of attention due to leaked set photos. The Direct, shared the photos that were posted to Instagram, featuring actress Dominique Thorne (If Beale Street Could Talk).

Thorne will be playing the lead role of Riri Williams, who apparently will be appearing in the upcoming Marvel Studios film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. “She’ll pick up from where she leaves off later this year in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, where she’ll show off her original set of armor as Ironheart interacts with the Wakandans for the first time.”

Sounds like audiences will have a pretty good idea who Riri is before her show. Even though this year’s D23 released some footage of Ironheart, we’re excited by the behind-the-scenes moments, most never get to see.

What do the leaked set photos reveal about Ironheart?

The photos reveal Thorne in a mo-cap suit at a White Castle but do not provide further insight than that. The assumption, however, is that Thorne’s suit will be CGI.

By suit we mean an upgraded and refined Tony Stark Ironman suit. According to Ironheart’s biography on the Marvel website, “Riri builds herself a suit of armor, reverse-engineering Stark’s Mark-41 design and putting her own spin on it.”

In this story, Tony is still alive and meets Riri, so we’re curious how her story will proceed in the upcoming series. No doubt she will be inspired, even after Tony’s death, to make her own suit but what other elements will be changed?

You can read more about Ironheart’s origin in her biography page.
