Jennifer’s love life continues to plummet, but she discovers how to accept herself and She-Hulk in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law season 1 episode 7.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Season 1 Episode 7 recap – Jennifer and Josh

In the previous episode, Jennifer attended a high school friend’s wedding and met Josh. Single as well, the two hit it off naturally.

After the wedding, the two stayed in touch and slowly begin dating. Over the course of a few dates, Jennifer refrains from taking the relationship to the next level.

One night she finally caves, and Josh spends the night. However, he’s gone the next morning.

After she doesn’t hear from Josh over the course of 24 hours, she begins to panic. She becomes glued to her phone, waiting anxiously to hear from him.

As Jennifer waits to hear from Josh, she receives a call from Emil Blonsky’s parole officer. He’s worried that Emil had become Abomination due to his ankle monitor malfunctioning.

Afraid to go alone, he asks Jennifer to meet him there in case She-Hulk is needed. When she arrives, it turns out the ankle monitor had malfunctioned with no foul play on Emil’s part.

Emil welcomes Jennifer to stay and enjoy his retreat however she rather return home and continue to wait to hear from Josh. Her plans change when her car gets totaled by Man-Bull and El Augila.

With no choice but to wait at Emil’s retreat, Jennifer decides to search for cell phone service. Her service search leads her to a group counseling session with Man-Bull, El Aguila and few others.

She decides to stay and listen to their session when one of the men who attacked her back in episode 3 arrives. He apologizes profusely for attacking her but never explains why he did so in the first place.

The group convinces her to partake in their counseling session where she reveals her current relationship troubles. They provide her actual, helpful advice and in the end, Jennifer makes the tough decision to delete Josh’s number.

She learns that while she might not be in a relationship, there are those who love her as both herself and She-Hulk. Jennifer leaves Emil’s retreat feeling relaxed and relieved.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Season 1 Episode 7 recap – Traitor

It wouldn’t be an She-Hulk: Attorney at Law episode without some sort of twist or big reveal. Unfortunately for Jennifer, she still can’t seem to catch a break as it turns out Josh was not the man she hoped he’d be.

The night they sleep together he leaves with her DNA apparently reporting for the websites obsessed with taking her down. But we still don’t know why.

Will Jennifer find out what Josh did? When will she have to face these mysterious villains?

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Season 1 Episode 7 review

The episode might seem as though it takes an odd turn away from the usual plot of the show but in a way, it makes it better. I’ve mentioned previously that I actually like the way Jennifer’s story is told.

She is the not the usual Marvel superhero type. The fact that she literally juggles her life as herself and She-Hulk is something refreshing and new.

Both Ms. Marvel and Moon Knight had similar approaches, but they all have very prominent differences as well. Is this the route of the next phase of Marvel?

Bringing together heroes that don’t fit the usual mold? Could be, and if so, I’m not complaining.

This might not be what everyone wants to see, in fact not everyone can relate to her personal issues. I will say, just because she desperately wants a relationship doesn’t mean she less of a hero compared to her cousin The Hulk.

These are realistic goals. Some women want to be dating or married while having a successful career.

It shouldn’t have to be one or the other. Let Jennifer want the simply, everyday things.

Don’t bash her for it. Josh’s behavior was more of a disappointment than a total surprise.

However, this does lead me to believe that Marvel is probably planning to set her up with someone specific. If it is, who I think it is, it will have been worth the wait to see Jennifer happy.
