If you’re all caught up from watching all the new shows that were released in September and October, then let’s take a look at five new shows that are scheduled to be released in November. From Netflix’s creepy and unique Wednesday to the enchanting Disney Plus series Willow, these new shows are sure to please both fans of the fall and winter weather seasons.

1. Blockbuster – Netflix (November 3rd)

Netflix making a comedy series about a failing Blockbuster video rental store might seem like rubbing salt in the wound at this point. But even so, the series has the makings of a good television show.

The series creator and showrunner, Vanessa Ramos, has written for both Superstore and Brooklyn Nine-Nine, so her comedy credits are strong enough to at least make this one worth checking out. Randall Park plays the owner of the last Blockbuster store in existence.

He’s trying to figure out how to run a video store in the modern age of streaming and on demand entertainment. The cast is filled out by Melissa Fumero and J.B. Smoove who have both had successful roles in comedy series’ as well.

With every production studio in the world trying to make their own streaming service in the past few years, Netflix has been hurting in the comedy department. Friends has gone to HBO Max and The Office was taken by Peacock.

If this show is good, it might be a possible alternative to those light workplace sitcoms that Netflix has suddenly found themselves in need of.

2. The Santa Clauses – Disney+ (November 16th)

It’s not Thanksgiving yet, but if you’re ready to skip ahead to Christmas, then Disney+ can help you out. The Santa Clause franchise that started as a Tim Allen movie way back in 1994 is getting pulled back out with a new TV series.

For those that missed the trilogy of movies that were made between 1994 and 2006, the idea is that the job of Santa gets passed from person to person throughout the years. Each new person becomes the physical embodiment of Santa when they assume the duties and responsibilities of Santa Clause.

Allen’s Scott Calvin became Santa in the first movie, but now, almost thirty years later, it’s time for him to start thinking about retirement. While in the past, most Santa’s have passed on the mantle by dying, this Santa wants to be able to retire and spend more time with his family.

So, while Tim Allen is returning as Santa, it looks like this series will be in the “handoff” vein of reboots. This is where the elder statesman actor reprises their role in order to hand the franchise off to the younger actors who are about to take center stage.

Allen’s Santa will be looking for the perfect Santa to take his place which is why the title is pluralized as we’re going to get multiple Santas in this upcoming series.

3. Welcome to Chippendales – Hulu (November 22nd)

Even though it’s one of the older streaming services, it seems like Hulu is still struggling to establish what it’s identity as a brand is. As more and more entertainment companies are pulling their content in order to create their own streaming services, Hulu is one of the ones left to try and figure out what works as an original show on the platform.

One of their biggest new hits this year was the limited series Pam & Tommy, based on the theft and illegal distribution of the infamous sex tape of Pamala Anderson and Tommy Lee. The series received critical acclaim and racked up multiple awards and nominations.

It’s easy to guess that Hulu might be excited about another sex scandal true story series that they have coming up. Welcome to Chippendales tells the story of the creation and rise of Chippendales, the well-known male striptease establishment that went on to become a global juggernaut.

The series focuses on the founders of the company played by Kumail Nanjiani and Murray Bartlett. And, as luck would have it for Hulu, the series is also written and created by Robert Siegel, the same person who created Pam & Tommy earlier this year.

4. Wednesday – Netflix (November 23rd)

It may not have been released in time for Halloween, but at least Netflix has the good sense to drop their new show about Wednesday Addams on an actual Wednesday. The Addams Family seems like such a good playground for Tim Burton to play in.

It’s actually a little surprising he hasn’t done anything with the property before. But this is in fact the first time that Burton will be making something based on the creepy and kooky family.

The Addams Family started as a series of New Yorker cartoons before being adapted to every possible medium, from multiple films to television shows, to an animated series and a Broadway Musical. This particular Addams series focuses on Wednesday Addams, the daughter of Gomez and Morticia.

Wednesday, not exactly fitting in at a regular school, is enrolled in Nevermore Academy, a school that seems to have a taste that might be more in line with The Addams family. While going to school, Wednesday is also going to have to find time to stop the murder spree that seems to be wreaking havoc on the town.

While the series is focused on Wednesday as the main character, all of the classic Addams Family characters are scheduled to make an appearance. Christina Ricci, who played Wednesday Addams in the films from the early 1990s, is also joining the cast in a yet undisclosed role.

5. Willow – Disney+ (November 30th)

When Lucasfilm was first purchased by Disney, all the talk was about the future Star Wars projects that would be made. Then, for those who took things a little further, there was talk about a fifth Indiana Jones movie as well since that was a property owned by Lucasfilm.

But for those who took the project speculation even further, there was a rumor of a possibility that Disney might do something with Willow now that they owned it. Willow was a fantasy film released in 1988 with a story by George Lucas and directed by Ron Howard.

The movie was an ambitious one, but it received mixed reviews upon release and failed to make its budget back at the box office. The movie was considered a flop at the time, especially considering it was a project from the studio that had just completed the Star Wars trilogy a few years earlier.

Still, while only the one movie was ever released, the world it had created always seemed to have room for future stories. In fact, dedicated Willow fans are already aware that a sequel to the movie exists in the form of a trilogy of novels released in the mid-90s.

Now the story is at last returning to the screen, with a sequel series on Disney+. Warwick Davis is returning in the title role.

The story is telling a new adventure for the character. While it’s unknown if the book trilogy will be considered canon in the television series, the fanbase for Willow has grown over the years, to create a cult following who will be very excited to see the return of these characters and this world.
