The Daryl Dixon solo spinoff got underway last week. Norman Reedus (Daryl Dixon) posted some shots of him on set in France.

Nobody knows yet how he arrives or the catalyst that brings him to another country. The fan-favorite actor has stated recently Jimmy Kimmel Live! that he will not willingly be going to France on his own.

Because Reedus has gone to Paris, France to film this show, it’s become blatantly obvious that there will be a connection between his show and The Walking Dead: World Beyond. In the two-season spinoff, the post-finale scene reveals a French doctor watching Dr. Jenner on a computer screen, before she is shot, killed and transforms into a variant walker.

The variant walkers are stronger, faster, smarter, and downright a lot scarier than the walkers we are used to. In 11C of The Walking Dead we are introduced to variants with Aaron’s group.

Aaron claims he had heard of them before but never saw them with his own eyes. Some fans are curious why the series had waited so long to introduce variants in all the years of the show.

Speculation is saying that they were introduced as a means to attract more fans to the spinoffs, where we will see more of them there.

Who could be in the Daryl Dixon spinoff will the crossbow wielder?

Stars of The Walking Dead Andrew Lincoln (Rick Grimes) and Cassady McClincy (Lydia) have also been spotted in Paris. We have yet to see Lydia’s fate on the show, but we do know Rick is coming back to our screens in the very near future in his own spinoff.

Could Daryl Dixon possibly have a flashback or vision of Rick trying to help him along on his journey? We will see.

At the moment the series is titled simply: Daryl Dixon. But that can be subjected to change as the Negan and Maggie spinoff switched to Dead City as time went on.

David Zabel will be the Daryl series showrunner. Scott Gimple has told fans that Daryl finds himself having to reinvent himself again.

Will we see the Daryl we all know and love or will this be someone entirely different? Reedus revealed during this year’s New York Comic-Con convention that we will see a lot of familiar faces.

Most fans are curious how since France is quite a distance from the United States. Will we see visions and dreams?

Will Daryl run into characters from World Beyond that we all know? Could he run into people he’s known from the past like Jadis or Heath?

These are all very intriguing questions that should make fans want to watch. For now, the variants seem to be a huge factor in the spinoff.

Though it’s hard for us to imagine Daryl Dixon in a lab. France has some interesting things to offer and according to Reedus it’s going to be pretty epic.

Why isn’t Melissa McBride in the spinoff?

Melissa McBride was supposed to be side by side in the spinoff with Reedus, but an AMC statement confirmed that McBride was unable to participate due to her unavailability to relocate to France. Melissa has reassured fans that this is not the end for Carol.

She has a lot more story to tell. AMC has claimed that they are working to get the highly talented actress to get her back in The Walking Dead universe.

We all hope that’s true, and that we see her again very soon. The universe of The Walking Dead is not as amazing without her in it.

We so love her bond with Daryl and miss it already. Reedus knows a lot of fans have been upset with the spinoff news but continues to tell fans not to worry.

“They will meet down the road. You can pretty much bet all your money,” says Reedus. “I read all these people whining about it, and I have to just kept my mouth shut, but there will be a lot of foots in a lot of mouths at some point.”

There have been a lot of things are back and forth regarding this show. Nobody knows if Reedus is still trying to keep Carol fans interested in his show or if he’s trying to keep hope alive.

However, he does reiterate Carol is a huge part of his story and it’s all going to be okay. Time will tell on exactly what this means too.

However, with such a large and passionate fanbase it’s understandable fans would be heartbroken. They are soulmates and best friends.

We do not know yet how Carol and Daryl’s story will come to a close on the main show. We are hoping for something satisfying for the fans who have loved them for so long.

Reedus admitted that there will be castles, and moats, and that he had a hand in location scouting. He also revealed a picture of a horse and small child on his Instagram account last week.

We do know that it will very different. It will be quite the sight to see Daryl in this type of element.

In 2023 we will see if the archer will find his own way in France or return back home to his family. Daryl did say he knows where he belongs.

Only time will tell.
