On Ferrix, the final arrangements are being made for Maarva who has passed on. Brasso is mediating the mournful events while also looking after B2EMO, making sure the droid is ok without Maarva around anymore.

As Ferrix’s daughter is processed through the streets, Cinta looks on still waiting to find Cassian. The Imperial officers call Dedra Meero to check in.

The Imperial Security Bureau supervisor tells her subordinates to allow them a funeral but to keep it small so they can easily observe the people of Ferrix.

Andor season 1 episode 11: Vel goes to speak to Luthen…

Eventually, during their run, Cassian and Melshi find two Narkina 5 residents by a river and do some fishing. Spotting a quadjumper the two former inmates try to make a run for it but end up being trapped by the fishers.

The fishing aliens tease the inmates a bit before letting them go since they are no friends of the Empire either. When the Narkina residents ask where they are trying to run to, Cassian simply says Niamos, and they are free to go.

While Kleya is working at the shop, she is approached by a patron that turns out to be Vel. The shopworker keeps up appearances while Vel tries to talk to Luthen, who she knows is not there because his ship is gone.

Vel tells Kleya about Maarva dying, something Kleya will surely pass on. Following Maarva being cremated and turned into a brick, per Ferrix tradition, Brasso checks in on B2EMO and ends up staying the night with the innocent and lovable box droid.

Elsewhere on Ferrix, Bix is still being tormented and tortured by the Empire. While showing a hologram, the Imperial officers are asking Bix if Anto Kreegyr was the man who she introduced to Cassian.

She does not answer and continues fighting against the Empire’s immoral and oppressive tactics.

Andor season 1 episode 11: …but Luthen went to speak to Saw

Vel goes to check in on her cousin to find Mon Mothma looking on to her daughter’s zealous rituals. Privately, Vel finds out what trouble Mon is in and learns she is short 400,000 credits.

Mon is worried that Tay Colma and Davo Sculdun might not be able to help her. At his home, Syril Karn gets a call from Sergeant Linus Mosk who gives him an update about Cassian Andor.

Mosk tells his former Pre-Mor officer about the news of Maarva and how Andor will likely appear on Ferrix to say goodbye to his mom. On Niamos, Cassian retrieves the case from the resort he was staying at when he was arrested.

This is filled with his spare credits, some blasters, and Nemik’s manifesto. Luthen Rael ends up returning to Saw Gerrera.

The extremist rebel has decided he will go help Anto Kreegyr but Rael is now preventing him. After pressing Rael, Luthen finally admits to Saw that the ISB knows about Kreegyr’s plans and does not want Saw to suffer the same fate.

Initially skeptical of Luthen being so mysterious with his hidden sources, Saw eventually hears out Luthen. He proves the allegiance he has with Saw Gerrera is strong and fueled by a massive amount of respect.

While his mother is not home, Syril’s foes snoop through her safe, retrieve something out of it and leave.

Andor season 1 episode 11: Cassian gets heartbreaking news from Ferrix

On his voyage away from Saw, Luthen and Kleya talk in code about how his talks with Saw Gerrera went. Rael then goes to ask about Cassian, but Kleya warns him to stay away.

Before Luthen can really decide one way or another, an Imperial patrol ship stops his ship and begins asking for ID. With the help of his ship’s droid, Luthen is able to give them a fake persona.

However, the Imperial officer in charge still wants to board due to the increased amount of piracy that occurs. After they use their tractor beam on Rael’s Haulcraft ship, the rebel mastermind uses misdirection and stalling to prepare his defensive and offensive measures.

As these measures are ready, Luthen unleashes blasts that take out the tractor beam, defeat the TIE fighters that chased after him, and escape without the Empire ever really getting close to him. On the beach where he was arrested, Cassian makes a call to Ferrix and the smuggler friend he worked with many times there.

This is how he finds out that his mother has sadly died, and realizing he is unable to safely say goodbye to her. The episode ends with a devastated Cassian Andor parting ways with Melshi, so they can have double the chances to get the word out about the broken prison systems.
