These are the questions from The Walking Dead Season 11C we hope to get answered in the near future.

The Walking Dead has ended on a happy note for most of our beloved characters, as well as reveal, to a degree, what has happened to Michonne and Rick. However, the series finale left many loose ends, perhaps in preparation for the next year’s series of spinoffs.

All the same, below are our top five questions from season 11C that we’d like to get answered. Before we begin, please be aware that there are spoilers ahead!

5. The status of Negan’s family

The Walking Dead

Negan’s character growth and evolution is remarkable. From a cheating husband who learned too late to appreciate and love his wife, to the ruthless man who led The Sanctuary against Rick Grimes, to the now nearly humbled man who has finally found happiness.

Negan has no desire to run another community, he simply wants to live. Who knew he’d find true love again and with it, a stable marriage with a baby on the way?

Negan’s devotion for Annie was beautiful, and even though others scoffed at his happiness, he never let his old self take hold of him. Unlike past villains of The Walking Dead, Negan was able to overcome his old ways, but did he have a happy ending like everyone else?

The last we see of him is when he leaves while the rest of the group enjoys a family meal together. He gives Judith back her compass with a heartfelt note via Lydia, however we never know what became of him, Annie or their child.

This is probably meant to set up the Dead City spinoff however even the smallest hint of what happened would be appreciated.

4. Oceanside’s Fate

The Walking Dead

If there is one community that was wasted potential on The Walking Dead, it was Oceanside. In the beginning the community ran by women, thanks to Simon of The Sanctuary, was difficult to get behind.

All the women seemed hostile and unfriendly. As they began to become more trusting and aided Rick’s people, they still didn’t quite meet a very likable standard.

All the same, the community grows and becomes a near afterthought at times. It didn’t have the personality and relatability as other communities like The Hilltop or The Kingdom.

What we’re confused about is what happened to the community after Lance Hornsby took over? Luke and Jules explain it was taken over and they flee, but seriously what happened?

Did everyone die? Is there anything left of the community?

Why hasn’t anyone addressed this? Why hasn’t there been any information about it?

Oceanside could have been so much more, but as we already said, we view it as wasted potential.

3. How will walker variants be handled?

The Walking Dead

Variant walkers revealed themselves at the eleventh hour, quite literally, becoming yet another problem for our heroes. These walkers can climb, pick up objects and open doors.

How? We don’t know.

Is everyone made aware of this? We don’t know, but we assume so.

How will they be handled? We don’t know.

Why hasn’t anyone actually talked about this? We also don’t know.

Perhaps we’re overthinking things, but we find it odd that once Aaron and the Commonwealth soldiers who perished noticed walkers were acting different, that maybe an actual discussion would take place about this development. But audiences do not get to see or find out how our heroes are going to live peacefully and happily with walkers who could climb a secure wall at any given notice.

The buildup for these walkers was great, the payoff equally as great, but seriously how was there not a single scene with everyone together discussing what to do about these walker variants?

2. Where is Daryl going?

During the series finale, those who have survived are once again happy and adjusted to yet another way of life. This time it seems Alexandria and The Hilltop are thriving thanks to The Commonwealth’s new leadership under Ezekiel and Mercer.

As audiences watch how each character has been doing for the past year, we see that some things never change when it comes to Daryl. He’s ready to hit the open road again, alone, just as he’s used to doing throughout the series.

As much as Daryl has come to love and appreciate his friends and family, he’s still a lone wolf who loves to explore the world. But where is he going?

Why doesn’t he tell anyone where he is going? We’re assuming that it will be during Daryl’s next outing that the events of his spinoff will take place.

Trouble is, Daryl will be in another country completely. So, how does he get there?

Why is he there? Daryl’s open-ended ending had to have been done on purpose so that audiences will be interested in his spinoff, planned for release next yet.

1. Rick’s status with the CRM

After what felt like years, audiences finally got to see the man himself, Rick Grimes. After his departure and rescue in season 9, via Anne and the CRM helicopter, no one knew what became of the heart and soul of the series.

After Rick’s disappearance, leadership roles got passed around to other characters, but none of them were able to truly hold everyone together like he did. Upon The Walking Dead series finale, the Rick Grimes mystery was solved.

Sort of. It appears as though he had escaped the CRM, while attempting to find his family and loved ones by writing letters in bottles and keeping a journal.

Barefoot, filthy, will not much on his back, it seems as though Rick’s escape was hasty. But as he looks on at what’s left of Philadelphia from New Jersey, he gets caught.

Why does the CRM want Rick so badly? What does he have or know that makes him so valuable?

How did he escape? What happens to Rick upon recapture?

We’re hoping these questions get answered in his upcoming spinoff with Michonne next year.
