Wednesday: Jenna Ortega earns herself a Golden Globe nomination
By Shay McBryde
From Disney girl to the Scream Queen of 2022, Jenna Ortega is setting the world on fire. She can now call herself a Golden Globe-nominated actress.
With her performance and popularity, winning is within her reach. Netflix’s Wednesday was nominated for Best Television Series Musical or Comedy.
Before playing Wednesday Addams, Jenna’s work goes as far back as playing the Vice President’s daughter in Iron Man 3. She played Annie in Insidious: Chapter 2, Mary Ann in 2014’s The Little Rascals Save The Day, and in the same year she was in 7 episodes of the TV series Rake.
She played a lead role in Richie Rich a television series brought out in 2015 playing the character Darcy. Jenna Ortega is previously most known for her role as Harley Diaz in Stuck in the Middle, a two-year stint with 57 episodes.
Jenna has also starred in movies like The Fallout as Vada Cavell and Scream as Tara Carpenter. She is reprising her role and will be in Scream 6, coming out next year.
It’s amazing to see this level of stardom grow before our eyes. It doesn’t always happen for child actors, but Jenna is definitely the exception.
Not only is she shining but she is one of the biggest and brightest stars of the year. Wednesday was a character who remains dark and serious.
How she was able to pull this off at just 20 years old and give the performance of a lifetime is astounding. All hats off to her.
