The plot twists continue in Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight season 2 episode 9 “The Mad Scientist”. The location of the other storm wheel is revealed but someone else jumps into the race to obtain the Tianshang weapons.

Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight Season 2 Episode 9 recap – The Truth about Queen Zuma

The episode picks up with the group entering the volcano to escape in the scorpion monsters! Akna, the bird mad scientist, leads the group to her home safely and away from Klaus and Veruca who continually search for them.

At Akna’s home, it is revealed she lives in the same village as the armadillos who have been on the brink of starvation. Turns out, that is why they have been stealing food from the frog village.

But the plot twists don’t end there. Akna recognizes Wandering Blade’s stuffed bunny she had received from her brother Alfie.

Akna had made the bunny as a gift to give Alfie for Wandering Blade, after he spent some time aiding her and the village. Alfie somehow knew of the Tianshang weapons and hoped to destroy them.

He and Acka attempted to ask for the storm wheels from Queen Zuma, as ever since she obtained them, their village crops began dying without rain. Queen Zuma refused to give them up and a fight ensues.

This is how Akna is able to get one of the storm wheels. Destroying the storm wheel was harder than expected and Alfie had to return to England.

He winds up bringing the other storm wheel home with him, along with the stuffed bunny. At this point, the story and plot has gotten so overly complicated, but let’s continue.

After learning of Alfie’s death, Akna agrees to visit the frogs for help. The frogs however do not believe the story, especially the part with Queen Zuma being The Protector.

All doubts go out the window when Klaus and Veruca arrive demanding to know where Po and the others are. The frog surprisingly does not give them up.

They take him to their ship when The Protector arrives. Po and the group watch from below as The Protector is revealed to be Queen Zuma.

She battles Veruca but seemingly isn’t as strong with only half of one Tianshang weapon. But out of nowhere, Queen Zuma is able to use the lightning to move at super speed, as she has done before, to steal both the helmet and gauntlet from Veruca.

In the process she refuses to save the frog as she cannot have anyone know that she is The Protector. The frog is saved, Klaus and Veruca are sent a great distance away in their ship and Queen Zuma now has three Tianshang weapons.

Wandering Blade is taking a lot of these…frustrating developments, quite well. Better than I would have.

Her mission to stop Klaus and Veruca has been turning into an obsession this season but thankfully Po always seems to talk some sense into her. At least they still have the whip and know where the second storm wheel is.

But how are they going to defeat Queen Zuma, who has, essentially three weapons?

Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight Season 2 Episode 9 review

Season 2 is nearly over, and the plot twists are becoming both the strength and the weakness of the season. Having Queen Zuma easily defeat Veruca and take her Tianshang weapons was brilliant!

But did we really need this long, drawn out, story about how Alfie was there, knew Akna, and the Tianshang weapons? It was a really drawn-out backstory…

I’m supposing that when season 3 gets greenlit, hopefully, the story will continue to unfold in England but at this point, one more season will probably be enough. The entire plot of the show has been the Tianshang weapons, and it should really wrap up in season 3.

If the show wants to transition to another plot, then by all means, I’ll embrace more seasons! I always loved Kung Fu Panda; it remains my favorite DreamWorks animated film!

I’ll easily enjoy any Po content. I really do enjoy this series, but I’m worried it is becoming so unnecessarily dragged out.

They need to really provide a legitimate reason for even needing a third season. That is if, everything isn’t over in the next few episodes.

Next. “I heard a rumor” about when The Umbrella Academy will begin filming season 4. dark
