The season 2 finale of Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight has arrived. “Apok-ta-pokalypse Now Part 2” has the group, including a possessed Po, taking on Queen Zuma and her Tianshang weapons. Will they achieve victory?

Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight Season 2 Episode 11 recap – The Battle

The army of rubber scorpion monsters approaches the city, led by a possessed Po, ready to fight Queen Zuma. Her guards are easily stopped, but this allows her time to put on all the Tianshang weapons.

She finally admits to the city that she has been The Protector and will deal with the intruders. The rubber scorpion monsters are able to withstand a lot of Queen Zuma’s attacks, allowing Master Mastodon to fight her.

While Master Mastodon has control of Po’s body, the dragon master is enjoying countless food in a white void, watching the battle progress from his soup bowl. The battle however quickly turns south, when the people of city begin viewing Queen Zuma as the villain.

Enraged, she begins to lift the pyramid palace into the air, threatening the citizens below. What’s worse is Master Mastodon is barely able to fight back.

In a desperate attempt to end the quarrel, Po tries to calm Queen Zuma down. He tries to help her seek reason, explaining it is not too late to stop.

She refuses to listen and delivers a killing blow using all three weapons. As Po’s body lays dead on the pyramid palace, Wandering Blade, Mr. Ping and even Rukmini fight back twice as hard.

Master Mastodon and Po watch as they continue fighting when everything begins getting sucked into the void. Master Mastodon sacrifices himself allowing Po to come back to life.

Po is able to attack Queen Zuma so hard that she loses all the weapons, allowing him to take them. Defeated, the city is saved, and Queen Zuma is assumably locked away.

But the mission is not over yet. The group prepares to set sail to England to find out what Alfie did with the other storm wheel.

As the Tianshang weapons are properly locked and stored in a trunk, the group obtains another traveling member, Akna. One of the frogs will become leader of the people and all seems well, right?

Even though there is no dialogue, the season concludes with pirate Queen Forouzan on her ship. Colin and Weimin are there as well, assumably traveling to find Mr. Ping.

We do not see Veruca or Klaus.

Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight Season 2 Episode 11 review

So, as expected, season 2 ends on another cliffhanger and no real resolution in regard to the Tianshang weapons. Will season 3 happen?

Probably. Will the story finally conclude in season 3?

Hopefully. Season 2 had a lot of high tension and interesting moments, however I felt as though I enjoyed season 1 a lot better.

Season 1 started it all by introducing a lot of new characters, some still very present on the show now. Everything felt new, exciting, and the plot twists were pretty epic.

However, by season 2, you are beginning to wonder which new characters are actually going to serve a purpose and which ones add to the filler. Season 2 felt as though it dragged a bit, stretching the story a little too thin at times.

But for what’s it worth, I did enjoy it all the same and I look forward to seeing what happens next season!
