The still officially unnamed Daryl Dixon spinoff has been on everyone’s mind as of late. By simply scrolling through Twitter, fans can see images, news, and rumors about The Walking Dead spinoff currently filming in France.
Much remains unknown about the spinoff, but we’re happy to share some new developments. It seems five new actors have joined the spinoff!
According to EW, French actors and actresses Anne Charrier (Genet), Eriq Ebanouey (Fallou), Laika Blanc Francard (Sylvie), Romain Levi (Codron), Louis Puech Scigliuzzi (Laurent) will be joining Norman Reedus and Clémence Poésy. It probably goes without saying that there will be quite a language barrier.
However, we’ve seen Daryl’s dedication and drive to learn ASL in order to communicate with Connie, so perhaps learning a new language won’t be as difficult. Reedus shared with EW in another interview how the change of location is a positive thing, making his spinoff feel original, “There’s history in the story. There’s history in the walls around us. There’s history in the sound of it all. It’s a very different feel. It has the stuff that you want from the show, but it’s just picked up and put in a whole other dimension.”
Who or what is the catalyst for the Daryl Dixon spinoff?
When we last saw Daryl, he was leaving again for an undisclosed reason, checking in on his friends and loved ones before departing. Thankfully the changes that were made to The Commonwealth could be seen and felt throughout Alexandria and The Hilltop as well.
This leaves audiences curious as to whether Daryl is heading towards the plot of his spinoff or if he will be kidnapped and sent to France. Either way, we are excited about this development and look forward to learning more!
