That’s a wrap! It’s official, season 4 of the hit HBO family drama, Succession, has finished filming and entered post-production as per @FilmUpdates on Twitter. This is just the kind of exciting news we’ve been waiting to hear.

Especially since the season 3 finale left viewers on a cliffhanger.

Even the cast was reeling from the twist in the direction of the story, when Tom Wambsgans, ably assisted by Cousin Greg, took his revenge and betrayed his wife, Shiv. With that decisive and damnable move, not only did Tom and Greg curry favor with Logan Roy, but it also enabled the family patriarch to garner enough shares for tech billionaire Lukas Matsson to buy the family conglomerate, Waystar Royco.

It’s a power move that would concretely leave his three kids, Kendall, Shiv, and Roman sans much of anything. Pretty much only pennies and definitively cutting off their inheritance.

As per HBO’s synopsis of season 4, there will be 10-episodes as the Roy children grapple with “existential angst and familial division,” as their coup bid to take over the reins of the family business failed. That failure has hurt all the more, since all the kids had finally set aside their sibling rivalry, coming together to overthrow their dad.

All for naught. Only to have their plans miscarry again.

In the release: “A power struggle ensues as the family weighs up a future where their cultural and political weight is severely curtailed.” HBO has already announced a March 26 release date for season 4.

This has made fans and devotees of the show understandably excited, as the past three seasons led viewers through a twisting labyrinth of a family caught in an ouroboros tangle of treachery, money, and ever shifting loyalties. The final goal of each child is to move their unloving, brutal, and maniacally wealth-obsessed father out of the way, to become the successor to the Roy multi-industry empire.

Every season has become more deliciously vile than the last, with each player somehow sinking to new, unbelievable lows with each episode. The teaser that’s been released for the new season, has just added fuel to the anticipation.

I mean, you can just feel the awkward new alliances already dissolving and patriarch Logan Roy chomping at the bit to make his children suffer. Even though I am Team Nero and Sporus (In-law Tom and Cousin Greg), I still can’t wait to see who rises, who falls.
