Oddballs Season 2 Episode 4 recap – Standing up for Mr. McFly

Mr. McFly decides to try a new look, arriving to class in a cowboy hat, boots, and belt. His appearance amuses Stuart, who laughs at his teacher to the point Mr. McFly begins to cry.

Angered, James stands up for his teacher surprising everyone. As a result, Stuart asks James to meet him after school at a specific time, for what we can all assume will lead to a fight.

It doesn’t but we’ll get to that later. James accepts until he realizes what is going to happen.

Oddballs Season 2 Episode 4 recap – Anxiety and Stress

For the better part of the episode James is stressed, knowing that Stuart will easily beat him to a pulp. But Echo might have the solution.

She has body-swapping technology that allows people to switch bodies. Upon doing so, she switches with Max.

Believing he’ll have the upper hand, James confidently goes to Stuart hoping to get the fight over with. Stuart however, pushes their meeting back another hour, meanwhile, Echo is enjoying all the perks of having Max’s body.

When James tries to find Max, in Echo’s body, he finds Mr. McFly. Max is now in Mr. McFly’s body and Mr. McFly is in Echo’s body.

When James finally finds him, Mr. McFly does not want to give it up, as he finds himself gaining more respect than ever before. Thankfully James is able to convince him to be his backup against Stuart.

When the time finally comes, James is in for a surprise.

Oddballs Season 2 Episode 4 recap – Conclusion?

Stuart didn’t want to fight James. After James stood up for Mr. McFly, Stuart realized he needed James to be his backup against his bullies, girl scouts.

Mr. McFly bolts leaving James and Stuart to get beat up by the girl scouts. James tries to come up with a lesson or moral to this episode but fails to do so.

But as least everyone returns to their bodies without any mix-ups.

Oddballs Season 2 Episode 4 review

While season 2 has eight episodes, this easily has become my least favorite episode of the season so far. The jokes didn’t really land for me, the concept was surprisingly boring, and overall, it almost felt a filler episode.

I felt that season 2 was starting out really strong, but hit a brick wall with this one. It’s wacky enough with the usual misinterpretations that only happen on a show like Oddballs, but I felt myself ending the episode with a little confusion and hoping that episode 5 will be a lot better.

It wasn’t terrible by any means, I’m sure some viewers will have found it funny and amusing, but it just wasn’t for me.
