Netflix’s Oddballs Season 2 Episode 7 recap: Mayor Max
With one episode left before the Oddballs season 2 finale, things seem surprisingly normal. That is until Dirt’s mayor is revealed to be a dog.
In season 2 episode 7 “Mayor Max”, Max becomes the new mayor of Dirt, but does the power go to his head?

As James is about to show the VIP passes, he got for himself and Max for the fireworks festival, the government snatches them away. The mayor of Dirt has canceled the event.
Angered that this is one but many fun events and things the mayor has canceled, James alongside Max and Echo follow him to visit the mayor. When they arrive, they discover the mayor to be a dog who speaks by pressing buttons.
Desperate to save the fireworks festival, James decides to help Max run for mayor. In the process, Echo uses the interns for her own personal gain.
But there is no denying that Max is quickly becoming the more popular candidate.
Oddballs Season 2 Episode 7 recap – Drunk with Power
Not surprisingly Max wins and becomes the new mayor. However, when James approaches him about the fireworks festival, Max let’s it slip that he has a plan for the town’s defense missiles.
Worried that Max is already drunk with power, James finds the previous mayor in the hopes they can destroy Max’s character. What James didn’t know was that Max wasn’t drunk with power, he was using the defense missiles for the fireworks festival as a surprise for James.
The previous mayor still wants to destroy Max and fires a laser at him from space. James redirects some of the missiles and in the end the crowd enjoys a wonderful fireworks show.
Oddballs Season 2 Episode 7 recap – The Cliffhanger
James apologizes to Max for the whole thing and everything seems fine, until Mr. McFly notes that those were the town’s only defense missiles. Good thing they won’t need them right?
Well, the ending of the episode reveals Toasty at the bread factory, seemingly completing a giant robot suit that he will most likely use to destroy the world.
Oddballs Season 2 Episode 7 review
The ending of the episode is both chilling and somehow hilarious. We knew Toasty would be returning at some point this season, but we didn’t know how.
A giant robot suit wasn’t what we were entirely expecting. This can only mean the season finale will be the fight to prevent the apocalypse from happening.
But will Toasty survive? In regard to this episode, I was surprised to see that Max remained mayor.
I was truly expecting his character destruction to be the end of his very short term but nope, Max is still the mayor. And I am all here for it!
