Citadel Season 2 Receives Big Tax Credits for California Filming

According to Deadline, Amazon’s Citadel has received a massive $25 million tax credit to relocate to California for its second season, exceeding the record set by Penny Dreadful: City of Angels. While Citadel season 2 hasn’t been officially greenlit, “deals are being finalized and a formal pickup is expected soon”.

The show is expected to become California’s largest relocating TV series. This is due to qualified spending.

“Overall, the seven projects given the nod from the CFC Monday are anticipated to drop around $397 million in qualified spending. That breaks down to 646 filming days in the state, with 1,585 crew, 629 cast and 19,994 background actors/stand-ins to be hired.”

Citadel becomes second most expensive show of all time

As per Wion’s reports, Amazon’s upcoming series has already been renewed for a second season, even though it had some problems during production and cost a lot of money. The show’s budget is said to be over $300 million, which makes it the second most expensive show ever, after The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.

Supposedly the actors got paid more than planned because of reshoots. Despite these issues, people are excited to watch Citadel.
