It has only been weeks since the first installment of the Daryl Dixon spinoff finished filming and rumors are swirling about Melissa McBride. The wrap-up party was held in France, while Norman Reedus took a small vacation with his family to Costa Rica.
It is a much-deserved rest and relaxation before season 2 possibly begins. AMC has yet to announce or confirm a season 2 for the Daryl Dixon spinoff, supposedly titled Raise The Dead.
However, thanks to social media and members of the crew, they seem to have confirmed that filming has begun this week. A crew member, @fred_aloha_guerin on Instagram, shared some photos of himself and Norman Reedus.
When asked by fans if Melissa McBride would be returning this season, he kept a tight lip and said it’s top secret.
What are the chances of Melissa McBride appearing in Daryl Dixon season 2?
While it’s still not an official confirmation, things are slowly getting pieced together. This same account confirmed day 1 of season 2 in his stories.
Season 2 is set to start off at Seine et Marne. A tweet was even shared to Twitter that revealed casting calls for season 2.
According to a French publication, there will be a famous actress who will be doing some mysterious filming on the Daryl Dixon spinoff at Saint-Malo. No name has been given for the actress yet.
Between that and some of those same cryptic messages from the crew, regarding questions about Carol and Melissa McBride, all the signs are pointing that Carol and Daryl will be back on our screen in season 2. When the flagship show ended, and Melissa could no longer originally join what was once the Daryl and Carol spinoff, she was asked if we will see Carol again.
Given that so much time has passed, it’s very likely we will see her again. Time will tell, but what we do know is back in season 10 of The Walking Dead, Carol and Daryl spent some time together at Oceanside after Carol’s long trip on the ocean.
They spoke of running away together, but at the time, Daryl did not seem so keen on the idea. The bike was where he wanted to be.
Carol agreed and said it wasn’t the time yet. There were things to take care of, mainly to avenge her son’s murder, which she had not dealt with at the time.
Throughout the season there was teasing and talk of New Mexico. Perhaps one day that will be their endgame.
In The Walking Dead’s season 10 extra episodes, we saw Daryl and Carol at some odds with some of the choices they had made. When Daryl is away and Carol is back home with Dog, we see her catching a glimpse of a pirate book.
Now of course Daryl never wanted to become a sea captain, but it seemed to be something Carol enjoyed. It helped her deal with her loss and clear her head.
Could reading that book be something that becomes useful to Daryl for his spinoff? We already know that Carol is well equipped to handle the sea.
She’s spent long periods of time out there alone. And if she finds out Daryl is in trouble, a journey to France is not going to stop her from getting to pookie.
It will be interesting to see how Daryl handles himself in France alone. But it will be even more interesting to see Carol come and set everything in her path on fire, if they dare lay a finger on him.
However, what will be even more blazing is the intense reunion Carol and Daryl are going to have that could even surpass their Terminus one. Daryl and Carol’s happiness continues to be brought up.
If anyone deserves to have a happy ending it’s them. It’s high time we see what it is they truly want.
What is their happiness? What does it look like?
One thing is for sure, if the two are able to team up once again, it would be a show of the baddest duo in the apocalyptic universe.
