The laughs and excitement continue on A&E. In the latest episode of Stone Cold Takes on America, we saw the former pro wrestler take on a few challenges that, believe it or not, got the best of even he, the mighty Stone Cold.

Didn’t think it could happen. Really, I thought he could take whatever was thrown at him.

Of course, you’re reading a piece written by a man who, as a young teenager rushed home from school to watch the toughest you know, take on a plethora of foes week to week. So I think very highly of the guy.

But it’s all in good fun of course, as Stone Cold stepped up to the plate for four challenges and endeavors this week in a jam-packed episode 3 of the very first season. As always, the laughs were plentiful, and the excitement was there as well.

This time though there was an added element…the usual element found in shows like Ghost Adventures…and yes, we’re talking about fear. But is Stone Cold afraid of anything?

The character he portrayed in the squared circle…perhaps not. But he shared a hilarious story during the episode about the first time he went to watch The Exorcist…

His story had me laughing hard, as he confessed to running through a patch of forest, he had to get through to get home on that dark, dark night. And run he did.

So, what were the tasks this week? First up was a flight in a jumbo jet…or what we thought was a massive aircraft at first.

But first, a mini anecdote for you: The ‘face of fear’ is something my dad told me about when I was quite young. He was doing some work on the roof of our house and I wanted to climb up the ladder with him.

But just when I got up there and looked back (never look back down), I turned back and couldn’t at all make it over that top rung and onto the roof. I looked up at my dad to see him kind of smiling to himself, but he put his hands out and said: “Don’t do it, Dom…you’ve got the face of fear. Never mind.”

And so, I made my way down the ladder, thinking of the term he’d used: The ‘face of fear.’ The thought of it terrorized me even more.

So, I just watched from below and every now and again he’d poke his head over the side of the roof, that smile still on his face. He came down for lunch about an hour later and he pulled me in and explained that whenever someone looks that scared of anything, they’re really very scared.

Perhaps going through with whatever it is, isn’t always the best of ideas. But despite having that face on him, Steve powered through, as he’s done with every task so far on the show.

I definitely saw the face of fear on Steve during the episode and I never thought I would, but in face of that obvious fear, he stood up to the task at hand. And it was all while flying that jumbo jet!

But was he really flying a jumbo jet? It sure looked like it.

As it turned out though, he wasn’t. It was a flight simulator, but boy did it still get to him.

During the segment and at one specific point, I got to see the face that perhaps my dad saw on me all those years ago: The dreaded ‘face of fear.’

Task 2 was a ride in a high-powered trophy truck, in which the star watched a couple of pros before taking the wheel himself. He did well…again vehicles and driving them being his forte.

Task 3 was a chance to show his appetite…if he could finish the biggest burger I have ever seen. If he could do it, he’d get a free T-Shirt.

Finally he is let into Nevada State Prison—now empty and no longer in operation—with a bunch of paranormal investigators. The excitement and the laughs start almost immediately.

There is just one problem: Stone Cold doesn’t believe in ghosts, so the investigators have to deal with the threat of ghosts while at the same time, try to convince good old Stone Cold that there is an afterlife, so to speak. Does he make a ghostly encounter…one even more threatening and terrifying than the times he encountered the treacherous Undertaker and Kane in the pro wrestling ring?
