What happens in The Walking Dead: Dead City trailer?

The official trailer for The Walking Dead: Dead City has finally arrived! After months and months of waiting, a complete picture is finally becoming clear as to why Maggie and Negan are teaming up for the first of many, Walking Dead spinoffs.

Let’s figure out what is going on, shall we? It seems that The Croat, has kidnapped Maggie’s son Hershel and taken him to Manhattan.

Since The Croat and Negan know each other, Maggie will be using Negan as leverage to get her son back. The trouble is, Perlie Armstrong is also after Negan, however, his reason remains currently unknown.

As Maggie and Negan make their way through the walker-ridden Manhattan, they encounter more survivors, both friendly and dangerous. How did Maggie find Negan?

The official trailer, which has over two million views, does promise very grotesque walkers, and perhaps some more of the variant kind as seen in The Walking Dead season 11. As each scene blends into another, with dangers lurking at every corner and the Iggy Pop & The Stooges song Gimme Danger playing in the background, we got ourselves one impressive and thrilling TV show to look forward to.

The best part? It doesn’t seem to completely connect to The Walking Dead, which may mean that those unfamiliar with the walker apocalypse show could probably enjoy Dead City without feeling completely lost.
