Which The Walking Dead star will be in Kevin Costner’s new film, Horizon?

Kevin Costner is in the middle of filming his dream project, an epic western called Horizon. But did you know that the former star of The Walking Dead, most notably known for his role in Guardians of the Galaxy, Michael Rooker, will join the modern King of the West?

The film Horizon is a future epic western directed and starring Kevin Costner. The cast list for this project is stellar, to put it mildly, with the likes of Sienna Miller, Luke Wilson, Sam Worthington, Thomas Haden Church, and of course, Michael Rooker.

The project has already gotten the go-ahead, two have three sequels after the first movie. Kevin Costner is knee-deep in Horizon, which has taken some time away from his western show Yellowstone.

Rooker was cast in the film last August and is no stranger to westerns, with a role in Tombstone. In Horizon, Costner will be showing us a span of 15 years in this era of time, about the expansion out in the American West.

What we know of Horizon so far

It will provide movie goers with a glimpse inside of the adversity Americans went through to build it. On Yellowstone we have gotten to get a small glimpse of what the Native Americans went through when the settlers arrived.

On the new hit prequel 1923 we have gotten to see even more about it. It looks as if Kevin Costner is continuing that.

It’s great to see Native American’s highlighted again and showing all the catastrophe they went through. Out of the entire cast of The Walking Dead, Rooker has had one of the most outstanding resumes.

There remains no official word on the release of Horizon. But it’s safe to say that Costner and Rooker are no strangers to each other.

They were both part of the Oscar winning, JFK. Costner himself is no stranger to awards.

He’s won two Academy Awards, three Golden Globes, one Primetime Emmy, and two SAG Awards. So, this team up, along with his Horizon all-star cast, is sure to be one jam packed hit.

The Walking Dead’s Michael Rooker’s impressive resume

Rooker is no stranger to awards either. He has won for two awards for Guardians of the Galaxy.

Rooker’s other most notable roles are of course Mississippi Burning, Eight Men Out, Cliffhanger, The Bone Collector, and Days of Thunder. And that’s just to name a few.

He currently has two other projects coming along with Horizon such as the film The Outlaws. He will also be returning to the Fast and the Furious franchise as Buddy in Fast X.

Rooker recently was the Grand Marshal in Fontana for the Pala Casino 400 back in February. He brought his glory days from Days of Thunder to live in action on the raceway.
