The Amazon Prime Video original show Good Omens, based on Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s novel, was a splendid combination of bizarre and unique storytelling, that provides humor (sometimes dark) with thought-provoking situations. Starring David Tennant and Michael Sheen, the two played demon Crowley and angel Aziraphale, who continually bump into each other throughout time, starting as early as Adam and Eve getting exiled from the Garden of Eden.

Their constant, unexpected meetings turn into a true, loyal, and secretive friendship. But it must remain secretive due to the fact Heaven and Hell wouldn’t be all too happy that an angel and demon are literally palling around.

Not surprisingly, angel Aziraphale is sweet and responsible, while also treated like a doormat by other, high-ranking angels. Crowley is the rule breaker, who lives how he wants regardless of how his fellow demons view him.

In season 1, they decide to do their best to prevent the end of the world, but in the process fail a multitude of times. Some of these times can be rather comedic.

When will Good Omens season 2 arrive to Amazon Prime Video?

Truthfully their decision to go against their respective realms and bosses (Heaven and Hell) and work together, is honestly a true testament of their friendship and love for the human world. Although season 1 ended rather pleasantly, season 2 is on the way!

Arriving to Amazon Prime Video on July 28, Aziraphale and Crowley are returning, but what will be the big event they must prevent? We don’t know, but the recently released opening credits did provide a lot of clues and hints.

In season 1 the opening credits provided, spoilers somewhat, of what is going to happen. Stylized much like the opening credits to an episode of Monty Python’s Flying Circus, we see Aziraphale and Crowley moving about, as scenes change alongside the catchy opening credits theme.

For season 2 a couple of things stand out, such as a battlefield, graveyard, entering the depths of a hellscape, a warzone and what appears to be dozens of elevators constantly going upward. Honestly, we’re thinking this is the Rapture.

Season 1 was about the arrival of the Anti-Christ. We’re thinking season 2 is about the Rapture as it is about the return of Jesus Christ but also when dead believers are resurrected and then all believers will be saved and brought up to heaven.

Seems to fit the graveyard and elevators moments from the opening credits. Of course, this is our theory.

What do you think will happen in season 2? In the meantime, enjoy Good Omens season 1 available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
