What is the filming status of The Last of Us season 2?

Upon the completion of HBO’s The Last of Us season 1, based on the video game of the same name, fans were curious to know when filming for season 2 would commence. Good news!

We have our answer! Vanity Fair recently released an article about Bella Ramsey, whom many know from Game of Thrones and His Dark Materials. The article highlights many facts and pivotal moments in Ramsey’s life from what they are currently up to and how they got their Game of Thrones audition.

However, the one part of the interview we want to focus on is the brief section about The Last of Us season 2. Production is due to begin later this year with Ramsey saying this about the upcoming season, “It’s darker. It’s really a story about revenge, and a continuation from the first season about the dangers of unconditional love.”

Could they be referencing what many fans of the video game are fearing? Which to spare you direct spoilers, the reference we are talking about pertains to the character Abby.

Who does Bella Ramsey play in The Last of Us?

In The Last of Us, Ramsey plays one of the main characters Ellie, who happens to get bit by one of the infected but doesn’t turn. The fate of the post-apocalyptic world clearly rests in her hands and those willing to find a cure.

She winds up under the care of Joel (Pedro Pascal), who is tasked with taking her to the Fireflies. Naturally, over the course of their journey the two create a close-knit, father-daughter bond while dealing with both human and inhuman enemies.

The real trouble, however, occurs in the season 1 finale when Joel makes the tough and risky decision to not allow Ellie to die for the sake of creating a cure. What’s worse is he lies to her about the whole ordeal.

How is this event going to affect the next season? We’re definitely on edge just thinking about it.
