Tokidoki animated series Mermicorno: Starfall is slated for 2025
The extremely popular Tokidoki is expanding into the world of television! The brand known for its unique art style and creation of such memorable, artistic, and often adorable characters such as Donutella, Unicornos, and Moofia is going to take the animated world by storm!
Simone Legno the Co-Founder/Chief Creative Officer of the lifestyle brand, which sells merchandise from clothing to accessories, made the exciting announcement, via his Instagram account! In his post, the animated television show titled, Mermicorno: Starfall is scheduled to debut in 2025 on MAX.
The show will be created and produced by Thunderbird Entertainment Atomic Cartoons. The company has partnered with several big names such as LEGO, Disney, and Marvel.
But what will Mermicorno: Starfall be about? According to Deadline, the show is described as a “smart and fun adventure-comedy that takes place in a fantastical and magical undersea world, where a team of Mermicorno [enchanting half-‘Unicorno’/half-fish creatures] join together to save the ocean from the threat of the evil Ika Inkblot.”

But wait, backup, what is a Mermicorno? The Tokidoki website defines these elegant and magical water creatures in the best way possible, through storytelling.
"“One special night, a group of Unicornos were flying in the direction of falling stars. The falling stars were disappearing into a sparkly sea which transformed them into star fishes, while changing snowflakes into jelly fish. They rode the tail of a shooting star into the magical sea turning them into enchanting creatures of half Unicorno and half fish. One day while following migrating dolphins, they discovered the surface of our world. Thus began the legend of the Mermicornos, rumored to only resurface during a lunar eclipse.” -Tokidoki"
Mermicornos, like Unicornos are often sold as blind box toys with exquisite and creative designs and names. We’re curious that if the animated show is a success, will other Tokidoki characters follow suit and have television shows as well?
