The Walking Dead spinoff Dead City aired on Sunday, June 18. In the first episode, we learned how Negan and Maggie reunite, why Negan is a wanted man by New Babylon, and who kidnapped Hershel.

The duo manages to successfully enter New York City, but their trials and tribulations have only begun after already encountering one of the two villains of the show and plenty of walkers. But that was not all that occurred in the first episode.

Audiences got their first tease, if you will, of the upcoming Walking Dead spinoff: Daryl Dixon. In the barely 20-second-long video, we see an unconscious Daryl atop an overturned small boat or lifeboat.

He is drifting in the ocean somewhere seemingly far away, as foreboding music plays in the background. In the same teaser we are informed that the spinoff will be airing in the fall.

What do we know about The Walking Dead Daryl Dixon spinoff?

But that’s it, that is all we get. It’s subtle but a little more of a reveal would be nice, considering this is the one thing we already know about the spinoff.

It has been said time and time again that Daryl arrives to France via boat but doesn’t know how he got there. Just as it has been essentially revealed that filming for Daryl Dixon season 2 has been underway, without any official word on the matter from AMC.

The title, Daryl Dixon is perplexing considering it was rumored for the longest time that the title of the spinoff was changed to Raise the Dead. Was that untrue and meant to trick eager fans?

There has been so much mystery surrounding the Daryl Dixon spinoff that social media has become the only source of any information for frustrated fans. The social media posts mostly consist of supposed leaks from those on the set in France or onlookers during filming.

We’re hoping for more, concrete and definitive information about this spinoff to arise sooner rather than later. In the meantime, the next episode of Dead City airs on Sunday June 25 on AMC.
