Each week comes closer to the premiere date of TWD: Daryl Dixon and The Walking Dead fans are getting showered in sneak-peeks for the upcoming spinoff centered around Daryl Dixon.

After a teaser to get to know more about the character Isabelle, we now have further information on the child who Daryl Dixon is tasked with helping, Laurent, played by newcomer Louis Puech Scigliuzzi.

Daryl Dixon helping a child is no stretch to the imagination but he will be in charge of taking Laurent to a destination he was born for. According to Isabelle, he is destined to lead the revival of humanity. In a new clip, we see Laurent speaking to Daryl and he surely lacks no intelligence. Which is good for Daryl because he has no patience for ignorance.

In the clip above Isabelle tells Daryl that he is the messenger sent to them by God to deliver Laurent. Dixon becomes a little sassy with the nun and replies “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

At this point in the story, Daryl wants to leave and get back home. He doesn’t seem too interested in their problems and is less interested in wanting to help. Daryl Dixon is tired of fighting everybody else’s war.

In an interview with TV Insider executive producer of TWD: Daryl Dixon Greg Nicotero tells fans Daryl will be taking us back to the beginning of what the DNA of The Walking Dead started as, which is a man on a mission. Daryl is completely on his own, he doesn’t know the language or the people. In the first episode of the new series, we see “burner” walkers who are essentially acid walkers.

"“These zombies have mutated to a point where if they touch or bite you or their blood gets on you it burns you significantly. It changes all the rules.” -Greg Nicotero"

These walkers will not be the first or last new uniquely-formed walkers in future spinoffs of TWD. In Dead City, we saw the “Rat King” walker that Maggie had to battle. Several walkers mutated into one body made for one epic showdown that Maggie miraculously took down single-handedly took down in episode 5 “Stories We Tell Ourselves.”

Filming of TWD: Daryl Dixon season 2 has been slowed down since the strike but things should be looking to wrap up soon with the return of Melissa McBride. The future is looking bright for both Daryl and Carol and there will be much more to come within the next year. The solo story of Daryl Dixon will take off on September 10 at 9 PM ET on AMC and AMC+.
