Bold and the Beautiful fans were devastated to learn that Rena Sofer would no longer be playing Quinn Fuller, especially after finally getting a happy ending with Carter. They were one of daytime’s most hot and steamy romances.

Rena’s 9-year run would come to an end a year ago. Immediately fans were speculating that it could give the opening for the soap veteran to return to General Hospital as Lois Cerullo, the mother of Brook Lynn and ex-wife to Ned Quartermaine.

The news came from a People exclusive and now Sofer fans can rejoice about the long-awaited return of the Emmy award-winning actress. At General Hospital trouble has been finding Rene’s on-screen daughter Brook Lynn, (Amanda Setton) like a magnet since she returned to Port Charles.

After being blackmailed by her grandmother, Tracy, she found herself in hot water at work for stealing vital company information to give to her, Lois is heading back to town. Lois Cerullo has never had a problem putting Tracy Quartermaine in her place and her mother-bear instincts should be coming in full force.

Not only does she have Tracy to contend with her daughter’s troubles, but there is also Ned who still thinks he’s rock star, Eddie Maine. Lois just may be the person to bring Ned back to reality.

Ned and Lois were once a super-couple for General Hospital, whom some still believe are soulmates. I believe she could be the one to pull him back in.

Ned’s current wife Olivia has had no luck in doing so. Lois may very well kill two birds with one stone.

General Hospital: Why did Lois (Rena Sofer) leave to begin with?

Ned has made mistake after mistake with women. And his relationship with Lois was no different.

After too many heartbreaks, Lois left town in 1997 and raised Brook Lynn in Bensonhurst. With her family in turmoil, this is a perfect opportunity to come to town and fix what is broken.

In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Sofer reveals how excited she is to be back on GH and with on-screen daughter Amanda Setton.

"“I am so excited to step back into Lois’s fingernails again!” -Sofer tells SOD.  “I am so excited to be working with her. I think that bringing her back into the fold and onto the landscape will create fertile ground for some fun storytelling. From what I understand and from what I’ve seen, Lois is a force to be reckoned with and a really fun character. I think giving more context to Brook Lynn by seeing her with her mother will be really fun to play and I can’t wait to explore that with Rena. It’s a whole new dynamic and it’s just a great dynamic to introduce into the show.” -Setton"

We cannot wait to see what this dynamic brings to Port Charles. Lois has always been a force of nature and when you mess with the bull, you get the horns.

Tracy Quartermaine may finally have a challenger for once. After all, Lois is one of the most direct people you can come across and Tracy is no different.

One person who will be overjoyed to see her will be long-time friend Sonny Corinthos, who her daughter still refers to as Uncle Sonny due to their connection. Between all the memories Ned and Lois share, this may stir something inside of him.

He may still think he’s in love with her. Lois after all, was a band manager who “Eddie” fell in love with.
