Alright, it’s theory time! As we’ve been watching the latest Waking Dead spinoff, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, a lot still remains unknown.

The biggest unknown for The Walking Dead Universe as a whole is how and why the zombie virus started. Was it on accident, on purpose?

No one really knows at this point. The closest bit of information we have regarding the virus is that it can be traced back to France.

France was the last country to go dark when the apocalypse began, and they seem to be at fault according to The Walking Dead: World Beyond series finale end credits. Now that a TWD show is in France, we can get a firsthand look at how another country is handling the apocalypse.

And as expected, we got a secret evil government group involved somehow. The group, Power of the Living, is led by Genet, who already gives off Jadis CRM vibes.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon: How Genet connects to our theory

In the most recent episode, Genet has made it clear that although she doesn’t believe in Laurent’s prophetic destiny, she still views him and those who do believe a threat. So much so that she’s implying he will have to be killed.

She’s stone cold serious in expressing her distain for weak mindedness, which means anyone who holds any amount of hope that the apocalypse will one day end. She views this sort of nonsense as ridiculous but dangerous all the same.

Considering her viewpoint and her questionable walker experimentations, could it be that she is one of those responsible for the zombie virus in the first place? Could it be that those with her thought process were the ones responsible and this way of thinking has been passing down to those in charge?

Could it be that Power of the Living has been responsible from the beginning but was under a different name at the time? Truthfully, you can’t blame us for this theory as it’s a tale as old as time.

Villian sees the world as self-destructive and weak and wants a clean slate. By clean slate they mean creating a situation where large masses of people die and thus the world starts over, but this time under stricter and more idolized rule.

If we are wrong and Genet as well as Power of the Living are not responsible, they are at least guilty of walker warfare tactics. Are we going to see a literal walker army in the near future where Power of the Living will be able to control the entire world?

We think it’s highly probable.
