Fear the Walking Dead Preview: Non-spoiler thoughts for “Iron Tiger”
By Shay McBryde
Fear the Walking Dead is back in a big way and only vengeance is on the mind for Troy, or so it seems. But follow along because more layers will be unraveling for Troy Otto.
There are bigger stakes in the game and Madison is about to find out what they are. In “Iron Tiger”, there is more reuniting.
Some are happy and some…well you’ll know it when you see it. Questions become answered by the end, but the biggest story “Iron Tiger” has to offer is redemption.
Unlike the mothership of The Walking Dead, this episode of Fear the Walking Dead tells the story of redemption done the right way. Madison and the gang are low on fuel, and they will have to take a detour to stock up before taking the fight to Troy.
They need the resource to be able to defend PADRE. Along the way, Madison comes head-to-head with her past and must face the hard truth that she was never told.
“Iron Tiger” was written by Nick Bernardone and Jacob Pinion and beautifully directed by SJ Main Muñoz. I must give kudos to the writing team in this one because episode 8 will have your emotions up and down from anger, sadness, happiness, and joy, to straight devastation.
“Iron Tiger” really lays the groundwork for what’s to come in Madison’s story, which is Fear the Walking Dead right now. Kim Dickens is masterful in this performance, and we are finally seeing Madison take the reins from Morgan Jones to make this show what it was always meant to be; hers.
It’s exhilarating to see Madison making all these connections again with the characters we have left and rebuilding a life that was taken from her so long ago.
“The search for gas leads to an unexpected reunion that Madison uses as an opportunity.”
