Opinion: Who should win this year’s Golden Globe Awards?
The Golden Globe Awards is trying to return to relevance, attempting to be a bit edgier with their nominations. In some cases, they were right, and, in some cases, they missed the mark.

Looking back at Show Snob’s Weekly Top 10 from the year and the newest Show Snob Premiere Reviews, we identify who should win the Golden Globes and who should have been nominated.
Best Television Series – Drama
The Golden Globes nominated:1923, The Crown, The Diplomat, The Last of Us, The Morning Show, and Succession
Who Should Win: The Diplomat
Who Wasn’t Nominated that Should Win: Bodies (Netflix)
Rationale: The Diplomat, The Last of Us, and Succession all spent time at Number 1 on Show Snob’s Weekly Top 10. But Bodies was the most original, interesting, exciting, and entertaining show of the year.
It was great that they finally killed off Logan in Succession and we saw what idiots all his children could be. The Last of Us was probably the most intense show of the year.
But The Diplomat was one of the smartest shows on television, which made it one of the fastest binges.
Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy
The Golden Globes nominated: The Bear, Ted Lasso, Abbot Elementary, Jury Duty, Only Murders in the Building, and Barry
Who Should Win: The Bear
Who Wasn’t Nominated that Should Win: Shrinking (Apple TV+)
Rationale: I have an issue with The Bear in the comedy category. It is funny, sometimes very funny, but it definitely crosses over into the Drama category.
Some episodes were not funny at all. Barry‘s final season was exceptional, and Ted Lasso‘s final season was terrible.
Jury Duty was a really different kind of show and if there was a Reality category, they should win hands down. Shrinking was the funniest show on TV this year.
Harrison Ford and Jason Segal were outstanding, but Jessica Williams was the funniest woman on television this year.
Best Television Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television
The Golden Globes nominated: Beef, Lessons in Chemistry, Daisy Jones & the Six, All the Light We Cannot See, Fellow Travelers, and Fargo
Who Should Win: Lessons in Chemistry
Who Wasn’t Nominated that Should Win: Nobody, they got this list correct.
This is the hardest category because all of these shows are really good. Beef will probably win, but the ending was really subpar.
Fargo is absolutely fantastic, and Juno Temple should win, but it isn’t over yet. So then how do you judge it compared to the others.
Daisy Jones & the Six was really fun. If All the Light We Cannot See wins, I would not be upset at all.
Lessons in Chemistry was so good, I wish it wasn’t an anthology and they should figure out how to make a season 2.
