Can you believe we’re already in September? I’m still in shock. But you know what that means? Fall television is right around the corner, and there are so many shows to look forward to.
While there are some great returning shows, like American Horror Story or Abbott Elementary, there are several new streaming shows worth the time to watch.
I picked four new TV shows you need to stream this fall, starting with Marvel's VisionQuest.
VisionQuest
Premiere date: Oct. 14, 2026
I bet you thought you’d never see this show, but believe it or not, VisionQuest is happening. This series was announced ages ago, and it felt like it would never premiere because, for a time, the MCU felt a little out of whack for a while. At the most recent D23, Marvel revealed the trailer for VisionQuestion, and it’s coming out soon.
The premise is essentially about Vision after the events of WandaVision and how he’s trying to understand who the heck he is, mainly through communicating with his own AI personas that are part of his literal programming. Oh, and a teenager suddenly appears who might be his son. So, no big deal.
As a girl who was absolutely obsessed with WandaVision when it came out, I can’t wait for this series. I mean, it might even get my fiancé back into the MCU because he fell off after WandaVision, too. It’s like the stars are aligning.
Paul Bettany returns as Vision, and there are a slew of stars, including James Spader playing an AI-human version of Ultron. Excuse me? That’s quite literally the best thing that has ever been written. The series premieres on Oct. 14, 2026, with a weekly release schedule. So, you'd better get excited to sit down for those eight episodes over eight weeks.
Brothers
Premiere date: Sept. 23, 2026
Now, this series is just strange, but in the best way.
Brothers is a new comedy series from Apple TV that stars Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson (who also co-created it alongside David West Read and Lee Eisenberg). The series follows the two as fictionalized versions of themselves, actors who decide to spend time together after a family event, only to find out they might be brothers.
This has been an ongoing joke for ages that the two actors look alike, so much so that they could be related. But it does make sense that these two would put pen to paper and find a way to make a show about it. With these two actors, I can almost guarantee it will be hilarious.
Plus, there’s also going to be a star-studded cast, with Holland Taylor starring alongside them. You can’t get better than that. The show will begin airing episodes on Sept. 23, 2026.
Carrie
Premiere date: Oct. 7, 2026
If the leaves are changing, you know what time it is — spooky season. And with that, it’s time to return to the world of Stephen King and to one of his best-known characters, Carrie. With that, it’s time you should know that a Carrie adaptation is coming out very soon — and it was created by Mike Flanagan, who also created other amazing TV shows like The Haunting of Bly Manor, The Haunting of Hill House, Midnight Mass, and many more.
The new miniseries is based on the novel of the same name and stars Summer H. Howell as Carrie, a socially awkward teenager who suddenly discovers she has telekinetic powers.
The series also stars Samantha Sloyan as Margaret White, Carrie’s mother, and I am always eager to see that dynamic explored in adaptations because everything evolves from the two of them and their interactions. Matthew Lillard even plays the school’s principal. It’s quite the production.
The miniseries premieres on Oct. 7, 2026, right in time for Halloween.
East of Eden
Premiere date: Oct. 1, 2026
Last but not least, we have to talk about the star-studded East of Eden. This new Netflix miniseries stars Florence Pugh, Joseph Zada, Mike Faist, and Christopher Abbott alongside a talented cast of supporting stars, and is based on the novel of the same name.
The miniseries retells much of the Book of Genesis from the Bible, like the biblical story of Cain and Abel, through the eyes of two families in California's Salinas Valley. However, the series focuses more on Cathy Ames, whom Pugh plays. This adaptation will center mainly on Ames's psyche and how she went down the road she did and who she is internally.
I can’t give too much away without spoiling the book and the original movie, but know this is a miniseries you don’t want to miss. With a cast like this, it’s bound to be exceptionally well-done, and you can believe I’m going to be sitting down and watching it for sure.
The series premieres on Oct. 1, 2026.
There are so many amazing shows to check out. I’m going to have to schedule time to watch all of them.
