With any new horror show that comes out this time of year, an endless number of horror fans will be chomping at the bit for new content. Prime Video is starting October off right with the release of Carrie, a highly anticipated adaptation of the iconic Stephen King novel—which just so happened to be his first published novel.

The series doesn’t present itself as a faithful adaptation, and because creator Mike Flanagan has cemented himself as a modern horror legend, people are excited. The lead star, Summer H. Howell, plays Carrie. If you’ve never seen any version of Carrie before, the story follows a teenager who discovers she has telekinetic abilities while being bullied at school. It also follows her relationship with her overbearing religious mother, Margaret.

The cast of the 2026 series is stacked with talented picks, both familiar to the Flanaganverse and new. And with a supposed “three-season plan” from Flanagan, there are plenty of reasons to check out the show. However, when can fans of this new adaptation plan to binge this entire show? Below, we’re sharing the release time in each time zone around the world so that you can get your Carrie goodness right as it releases.

When Carrie releases on Prime Video

Carrie comes out on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026, on Prime Video with every episode. Originally reported as a miniseries, it’s now labeled “season 1.” There will be eight episodes total, each around 45 to 55 minutes long, so you'll be sitting for a while.

But that’s alright — the more horror, the better around this time of year.

Like most Prime Video releases, all episodes of Carrie will drop at 12 a.m. PT / 3 a.m. ET, an overnight release that, of course, isn’t ideal for those who value their sleep. What the 2026 version is about

As I mentioned earlier, Flangan’s adaptation won’t be a fully faithful adaptation of Carrie. It’s more about building on Carrie's world for modern times and adding storylines that make the series stronger, not weaker. Expect cell phones, social media, and other elements of a typical 2026 school day.

But there will still be plenty of bullying, plenty of powers, and a whole lot of blood and gore later on. Here’s the official synopsis for a better idea of what to expect:

“Misfit high‑schooler Carrie White (Summer H. Howell) has spent her life hidden away inside the walls of her home with her fiercely protective mother, Margaret (Samantha Sloyan). After her father’s sudden, untimely death thrusts her into the unforgiving ecosystem of public high school, Carrie is forced to navigate a viral bullying scandal that tears through her community, the relentless pressure and casual cruelty of the social‑media age, and the awakening of mysterious telekinetic powers that rise alongside her adolescence.”

In addition to Howell as the lead, Carrie also features several familiar faces—and new other faces—in its cast, including Samantha Sloyan, Siena Agudong, Alison Thornton, Joul Oulette, Josie Totah, Arthur Conti, Thalia Dudek, Amber Midthunder, and Matthew Lillard. Check out the trailer below to see the cast kill it, then head over to Prime Video tonight to watch.
