Linda Cardellini has made me fall in love with Pam’s heart. Killing Mommy icon aside, Pam only wanted the best for her son. Plus, she truly cares for people. Is she a bit over the top with how she handles situations? Absolutely. Yet she can take care of herself and others. She’s the female icon I’d want in my corner.

In episodes 2 and 3, we see what happens to Pam's psyche after murdering two people, plus who Grace is now versus her friendship with Jason. Not only do we dive into Pam's story, but we find out about Grace's struggles. These two characters’ stories continue to intertwine as the destruction and changes around them affect them both.

This is the final part of the three-part story for episodes 1-3, and Pam isn't done latching on to Grace and protecting her.

Grace’s home life and memories of Jason

In a flashback, Grace runs through the woods until she finds a cabin and Jason catches up to her. He’s deep into his camping survival skills and almost backs out when Grace wants to explore the abandoned cabin. She takes his hand and they run inside, finding a hiding spot for his survival stuff. This cabin becomes their stronghold, so it’s no surprise when Grace wakes up on the cabin floor after the high school party. She hears a distant noise as she’s heading home, but sees nothing.

As Grace is in the bathroom at school putting on lipstick, Claudette and her friend come in. Claudette instantly tears into Grace about her not having a good side, and Grace says she’s almost about to leave. Yet, Claudette isn’t letting it go because she thinks she’s the one who broke Barry’s car window and she should pay for it.

Grace tries to tell her it wasn’t her, but Claudette doesn’t listen and sticks soap in her mouth, holding it in. Grace only gets free by biting Claudette’s finger, but it sends Claudette into a rage. When the teacher catches them, she blames it on Grace and riles her up to prove her point.

The teacher hauls Grace to the principal’s office and calls her mom to pick her up. Pam walks out of the lunchroom after overhearing things, and sees Grace’s mom hurting her. She tries to ask if Grace is okay, but all Grace can do is listen to her mother and get in the car.

Diner chatter and Ralph’s thoughts

We discover that Ralph suffers from wartime PTSD and still sees dead bodies when he’s having an episode. He’s skinning a deer on one of his porches when he hears his clothes snap off the drying line. There’s no one there when he turns around and runs to look, as he feels himself losing his mind. He does discover footprints in the mud on the edge of his property.

When Dorf fails to ask out Rita, he keeps trying until the guys down the diner bar pull him into their conversation. Rita is more concerned about the cops finding a pelvis than going on a date. Dorf does exactly what Levon asked him not to; he tells her the details. The guys move down the diner bar to tell Rita it looked like a bear attack and for people to be careful out there. Then, Dorf tries to rein the folks in, but they can’t get over the case’s details.

Dorf telling people at the diner about the bear doesn’t do anyone any favors. Ralph warns the men hunting group that all that’s waiting for them in the woods is death, but they don’t believe him. Even Chief Levon can’t get them to stop. They go out into the woods and things get dicey. One of the men gets shot to the ground when they get their wires crossed about what’s out there with them.

Evidence surfaces

As Levon struggles with a crossword puzzle, Dorf brings in a lead. There’s an abandoned rental car in Middlesex County, and they hope it will get them a lead on the pelvis. It’s been missing for a week, but no information came with it. Blood is then discovered in trunk.

At a loss for what to do, Levon brings his sister dessert to her office to ask for her help on the case. Nothing usually happens in Crystal Lake, but now he has an unknown pelvis in the woods, a rental car found two counties over that might have belonged to the owner of the pelvis, considering there’s dried blood in the trunk.

He also discovered that Suban Solutions doesn’t exist, and the phone number attached to the rental is disconnected. His case involves an invisible man, a ghost company, and a body that was dumped in his woods; he needs his sister’s help to track these pieces down.

Jason’s jacket

Levon helps Pam pack up Jason's room, but it doesn't mean she's throwing him away because he's not in the things but in her heart. At the end of the night, Levon kisses Pam, but she doesn't want to cross that line yet. He's the person she relies on and she doesn't want to lose him.

Pam goes out to the shed where she stored Jason’s boxes and pulls out his jacket. She takes it over to Grace’s house and puts it on her, letting her know that she looks good in it and it’s a gift to her. Now she has a jacket that will keep her warm. She starts to clean up for Grace when her mom walks in from a break from work and yells at Pam for making a house call. After seeing the cigarette marks on Grace’s arms, Pam has had enough of this woman.

Pam confronts Grace's mom at her work. The conversation isn’t pleasant from the get-go. It ends with a meat tenderizer and a fryer causing Grace’s mom’s death. This brings Pam’s body count to three as she burns the place to the ground to cover her tracks. A later scene reveals Grace burned her own wrists while she smoked a cigarette. Still, is Pam's revenge worth it?
