The return of Bullseye

Episode 2 opens with the aftermath of episode 1, with Cherry's apartment being stormed by AVTF agents. After being saved by Bullseye, Daredevil and Cherry were able to survive the encounter, with medical aid being called for Cherry's heart condition. Outside, Daredevil watches the scene unfold as Cherry is taken to safety. In his hand, Daredevil feels the knife Bullseye threw with the message "You're welcome" engraved on the side.

Inside a church, Bullseye stands before the alter. A priest approaches Bullseye, and Dex asks if he can speak to Sister Maggie or a father. Fans will remember Sister Maggie from the Netflix show, as it was revealed in season 3 that this hardened nun was Matt's mother. Unable to speak to her or a father, the priest offers his own services to Bullseye, asking what he needs. Bullseye claims he came here to seek penance.

Later, two AVTF agents arrive at the hospital where Cherry is staying. They've come to "watch over" him but are likely there for more nefarious purposes on orders from the mayor. When they arrive at his room, Cherry's not alone. Several of his old cop pals, including detective Angie Kim, stop the agents and keep Cherry safe.

The agents leave in an elevator, grousing over the annoying old cops that got in their way. Above them, a panel in the elevator's ceiling moves, and the agents are struck down by Bullseye. Dressed in his full suit, Bullseye saunters off to find his next victims.

Fisk deals with the vigilantes that challenge his leadership

While Fisk is boxing with a personal trainer, his right-hand man Buck arrives to inform him of Cherry and Daredevil's escape the night prior. He reports that the task force sent to deal with Cherry was killed by Bullseye. In season 1, Bullseye attempted to kill Fisk but was stopped when Matt took the bullet meant to claim the mayor's life. In the month since, Fisk has been unbothered by Poindexter—until now. In a fit of rage, Fisk punches his trainer so hard, he slams into the mirrored wall behind him.

In his office, Fisk debates what to do about Daredevil. Buck suggests revealing to the public that Matt Murdock, who is believed to be missing, is actually Daredevil, but Fisk disagrees. He doesn't want to glorify vigilantes in any way, so instead, he marks Matt as a hero. In a public announcement, Fisk calls for New Yorkers to be on the look out for Matt, encouraging them to find him.

With the city on the lookout for Matt Murdock, Matt and Karen are unable to safely leave their hideout during the day. Even in their disguises, the risk of being recognized is too great. Still, their desire to uncover what Fisk is using his free port for leads them to stake out the docks. They find that during the day, the port is being stocked with diapers, while at night, nuclear weapons are really what's being delivered.

Matt wants to infiltrate the dock and find out more about Fisk's plans, but Karen stops him. She's worried it's too dangerous and that he'd be risking his life for no reason. They need more information and a better plan. For now, the two lay low at their hideout in Josie's bar.

Angela sees the chaos on the streets

After the sudden death of her uncle Hector Ayala, Angela finds herself thinking more about vigilantes. On a walk with her aunt, Angela wonders why her uncle donned the White Tiger mantle and saved civilians as a masked crime fighter.

While in a bodega, some neighborhood kids attempt to steal alcohol but are caught by Angela's aunt. She tries to convince them to put the alcohol down, but the bodega owner reacts bigger, drawing a shotgun on the kids. Her aunt attempts to calm everyone down, but an AVTF agent arrives on the scene and escalates the situation.

In a chaotic scene, the AVTF agent attacks the bodega owner and pins the stealing teenager down. Angela's aunt grabs his sleeve to stop him, but the AVTF agent turns his attention onto her instead. Claiming she attacked him, the agent grabs the aunt and pulls her out of the store. He shoves her in a taskforce vehicle, arresting her without a true reason while a huge crowd of onlookers records the situation. Tensions are rising, and Angela calls after her aunt, unable to stop her from being taken away.

At Kirsten's office, Angela arrives in tears. She tells the lawyer what happened to her aunt but is drawn to a box on the floor. It contains Hector's items, including the Amulet of Power that is essential to the White Tiger's identity. It seems as though the show is hinting at Angela taking on her uncle's mantle, so fans will have to see if White Tiger makes a comeback.

Fisk has been working hard to portray New York in a positive light. The reports created by BB Urich show a sunny, welcoming place where citizens continually claim that the city has never been better. In reality, that's not the case. The streets are thrown into chaos, New Yorkers are taken off the streets, and the AVTF does more harm than they could ever do good. It seems that the show is seeking to create ties to real-life examples of the taskforce, such as ICE, who have acted in similar fashions. The show's attempt at connecting the AVTF to ICE adds a level of realism that audiences can see reflected in our current climate.

Someone dressed as Fisk has been exposing the truth that the mayor is trying to hide. They reveal true footage of the city, with riots and mobs fighting against the taskforce. Daniel, as deputy mayor, is put under scrutiny by Fisk, as footage keeps being leaked. At dinner, Daniel warns BB about leaking their information, suspecting it was her way of fighting against Fisk. After filming another Anti-Fisk video, it's revealed that it's been BB under the mask.

Vanessa is haunted by her past actions

It was revealed that Vanessa was responsible for the hit on Foggy Nelson's life in season 1, a shocking twist from what fans had expected. With the help of Bullseye, Vanessa's plan seemed to be successful—but now her life might be endangered by the same man she partnered with.

At a dinner event, Vanessa speaks with Heather privately. They've grown friendly during their time together, and Vanessa inquires about Heather's past relationship with Matt. She hints that Matt is more than he seems, that he is not really missing and is hiding out as Daredevil. While they're talking, Vanessa has a strange feeling that she's being watched. Outside, it's revealed that Bullseye is in fact watching her.

At night, Vanessa has a strange dream. She is no longer inside her room but outside under a bridge. Fog clouds her vision, and she stands with a gun in her hand. She sees a baseball roll up to her and sets a pen down on a table. She asks why she's being hunted, looking up to see Bullseye with a gun trained on her. When she wakes from her dream, Vanessa is rattled, clearly troubled by her involvement with Poindexter.

The hideout is attacked and Karen takes matters into her own hands

Matt and Karen are laying low in their hideout. With the city on the lookout for Matt Murdock, they don't want to risk being seen and uncovered before they can take down Fisk. At the hideout, Matt and Karen share a sweet moment and slow dance to music, but Matt's senses pick up something odd. All of a sudden, a loud blarehorn stuns Matt as the AVTF announces that the hideout is surrounded. The two flee, with Daredevil dawning his suit. AVTF agents pull Josie from her house to arrest her, but Daredevil arrives on the scene.

A quick-paced action scene takes place with Daredevil defending the hideout. Outside in the alley, Karen knocks out an agent. After the battle, Karen is nowhere in sight. Matt waits for her, worried about what happened to her. When they reunite, Karen reveals that she has something to show him.

She takes him to Frank's old hideout, where she's kidnapped the AVTF agent she attacked. She thinks it's time to get some real information out of the task force and to start hunting them like they've been hunting Matt and Karen.

As the third episode was released simultaneously with the second, viewers can instantly find out what happens next. With the interesting development at the end of the episode, Karen and Matt might be able to make real progress in their fight against Fisk.
