Penn Badgley has moved to Prime Video for his latest series, and he'll be joined by a slew of new cast members for mystery, murder, and more.
Deadline reported that eight new cast members have signed on as the main cast for the upcoming dark comedy, Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone, the latest in a number of adaptations for the platform. Badgley was announced in August, and now, the rest of the cast is now beginning to take shape.
The new cast includes Sean Astin, Patricia Clarkson, Elizabeth Marvel, Daniella Garcia, Felix Solis, Annaleigh Ashford, Chris Walley, and Eliza Bennet.
The new series will adapt Benjamin Stevenson's novel of the same name. The core premise follows a mystery writer named Ern (played by Badgley), who reluctantly attends a family reunion in the Vermont mountains when his brother, Michael, returns from prison. The only catch is that Ern helped secure his conviction, so things might be a little awkward.
However, the festivities turn icy when a frozen body appears and a snowstorm hits, trapping the whole family inside. Death comes for one and all, but is it truly scary if everyone in this family has already killed someone? Especially when some weren’t accidental?
It already sounds like something right up Badgley’s alley, especially after spending so many years on Netflix’s You and embracing that totally terrifying role — which, thankfully, ended after five seasons. However, the characters we meet make this story even more interesting.

Who the Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone cast will be playing
So far, we know five of the eight people cast. We’re still waiting on three, but these five already feel like they’ll steal the show.
The first is Patricia Clarkson. You might recognize her from shows like Sharp Objects, Parks and Recreation, and Six Feet Under. She'll play Audrey, a widowed mother who has become a pariah, according to the report. We're not sure yet whether that means a pariah to society or to her family.
Next is Felix Solis. He’s been on television for years, but you might recognize him most from his recurring role on Ozark. In this series, he plays Marcelo, "Audrey's second husband." I suppose Audrey must be widowed from her first husband, but how did he die? Or is Marcelo a ghost? Well, maybe read the book to find out.
Daniella Garcia will play Dr. Sofia Garcia, Marcelo's daughter, who also has her own secret. The actress has appeared in smaller roles on television shows such as Grey’s Anatomy, Cooper’s Bar, and more.
Elizabeth Marvel, who has appeared in House of Cards, Homeland, The District, and more, will play Katherine, Audrey's sister. And last but not least, Sean Astin will play Katherine’s husband, Andy.
Astin has been around the block once or twice on television. Many people my age know him as Bob Newby from season 2 of Stranger Things, but he’s been in several other TV shows, done plenty of voice roles, and has had a major movie career. He even played the titular character in the classic football film Rudy and Samwise Gamgee in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, so he’s a fantastic addition to the cast.
Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone already seemed like a great show when we found out Badgley was involved. With these latest adds, I'm even more excited.
I'm also very interested to find out who the other three stars will be playing. We only learned roles for five of the eight new cast members. And keep in mind that Ern’s brother still hasn’t been announced, so I’m sure when that does, I’ll be picturing how he and Badgley will interact. Chris Walley's character is still up in the air as to who he will play, so maybe it's him.
If you’re curious about the books the new show is based on, you can find them at bookstores and online retailers, like Amazon. Stevenson's series is a bestseller. There are four books in the series so far, so it looks like this has the makings of a multi-season show.
In the meantime, you can check out Badgley in his other dark comedy/thriller series, You, on Netflix now.
