Echo and Daredevil fight in Disney Plus January preview

2024 is here, which means we are one day closer to the release of the Marvel Studios Disney Plus show Echo. As a Hawkeye spinoff, Echo will focus on Echo AKA: Maya Lopez.

From what we gathered from the release of the trailer, audiences will be jumping back and forth between the past and present. We'll be seeing pivotal moments in Maya's childhood, especially in regard to her relationship with her uncle: The Kingpin.

However, after the events of Hawkeye, we have a feeling that family connection has all but been severed. Could this mean Maya's life is now in jeopardy?

We also gathered from the trailer, well before the rating was released, that this will probably be a darker, grittier, more realistic Marvel TV show than we've seen previously. Which, by looking at the subject matter, it should be.

Will Echo and Daredevil team up in Echo?

As the new year kicks off, Disney Plus released a fun, brief preview of what's to come for the streaming platform like films and television shows. As we are reminded that Echo drops on the platform on January 9, we very briefly see Maya fighting with Daredevil, among other things highlighted from the trailer.

Daredevil's presence in Echo will not only delight fans of the superhero from both his days on Netflix and his most recent involvement in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law but bring a new element to the show. But why is he there?

Based on the comics, they are quite the duo, able to hold their own against foes, offering people a new perspective on superheroes fighting with disabilities. It will bring a new level of relatability compared to previous situations of balancing work, school, and even romantic relationships with superhero duties.

A lot of the source material tends to change but we certainly don't expect Daredevil to start a romantic relationship with Echo as he's now with She-Hulk. But then again...that part of the story could take place before his relationship with She-Hulk.
