In The Terminal List season 2 episode 6, we learned where the major event would happen. The terrorists are targeting Odessa, the site of the potential peace agreement. We left with Reece (Chris Pratt) making his way there with the team, but could he stop what was coming in time to save lives? And what is his connection to all this?

Those are questions explored in this penultimate episode of The Terminal List season 2, “Every Bullet Has Its Destiny." Let’s dive in.

An early recruitment

We flashback to 1997 and a young Oliver Grey. He’s an impressionable young agent who has been approached by The Colonel (Ilia Volok), who is recruiting him to work against his country. That gives us the insight that Grey has long been following his own agenda. While on site, Grey meets the Colonel’s nephew Mishka (Alec Nevin). It seems like a simple meeting, but it sets the stage for what’s to come.

Flash-forward to the present, and Grey is now in Odessa. He’s in full disguise, and he’s ready to execute the mission, which is what he tells the Colonel when he calls. Grey is disguised as a Russian reporter, and he gains access to the summit.

Hunting for answers

Meanwhile, Raife (Tom Hopper) is still at the port in Greece. He’s looking for clues at the scene of the crime. He knows Grey dropped a body but also that he picked something up. The question is what he picked up.

As the team is on site, they find a clue to a container. They are able to match it to the container that’s been emptied and get a look at the manifest. He makes contact with Reece and shares that two very long-range rifles were taken. In addition, there was more equipment that suggests a stage two that includes some kind of engagement. That leads Reece and Freddy (Gabriel Luna) to think there could be more to it all.

Reece and Freddy have arrived, but the Secret Service and the Russian officials are taking it all with a grain of salt. The president refuses to delay unless there is a specific threat identified. The pair takes a run at Adrenov (Costa Ronin), but he doesn’t want to delay either. So, the ceremony goes forward.

After getting the call from Raife, Reece heads into the catacombs below the event to search for the strike team. Freddy remains on top to identify possible snipers. It is our old friend Nizar (Amir Khoury) and his partner Tasho (Mostafa Benkerroum), who were smuggled on a ship. They have the long-distance rifles, and they are set up in a shipping container ready to make their strike.

Reece is able to find the bombs and strike point in the catacombs. He engages and comes up just in time to learn he’s below the Russian hotel. That tells him that it isn’t the President of the United States but rather the Russian President who is the target. That news comes a little too late as Nizar takes a shot and hits his target.

Freddy is able to spot the container and tries his best to halt the attack. He fires and is able to put down Tasho. But Freddy and Nizar exchange shots at the same time as Reece tries to make it back to the roof. By the time he arrives, Freddy has been hit and is dead. The container has been raided, but Nizar has escaped. The threat has been stopped, in part, but it’s another heavy loss for Reece. And he’s still no closer to understanding why he’s been drawn into this plot.

Meanwhile, Grey is still in his disguise. He approaches Adrenov’s group to request a photo. While his team isn’t eager, Adrenov agrees, and Grey gets to his room. Yana (Olga Kurylenko) is sent from the room to look for food. It leaves Grey alone with Adrenov, who addresses his old friend by another name — Mishka.

From the early moments, I’ve suspected Adrenov was connected to everything going on. While it first appeared he might just be a target, this episode confirms he’s part of the plan of attack. But what is he seeking to achieve? And can Reece get to him before it’s too late? It’s going to be a heck of a finale.
