By Josh Hill
As we sit and wait for the new season of True Detective to come from HBO, the rumors we are starting to hear are beginning to sound more and more legitimate. Of course, following the debacle with Jessica Chastain thanks to a false start by The Nerdist, we have to take every rumors here on out with a grain of salt.

Similarly, series creator Nic Pizzolatto has noted that all the rumors we’ve heard previously are not at all true, meaning that we’re even more cautious moving forward. But we can’t help but sink out teeth into a juicy rumor when we hear is and the folks over at The Wrap are indulging us.
According to The Wrap, who have a pretty good track record of accuracy with scoops on all mediums, True Detective will feature one male lead character in season two.
We need to heed caution here as all rumors are subject to intense review until they’re confirmed by HBO or someone directly connected to the show, but this is a pretty believable rumor. It’s not over the top, doesn’t spill any big beans in terms of names and it sounds like something we could expect in the second season.
Nothing will be official until it’s confirmed but this might be the first big step towards finding out more about the second season of True Detective.
