When Will Vince Vaughn Speak About True Detective?
The casting of Vince Vaughn was once more of a hot-button issue, but it’s since evolved more into a joke that people are cautiously optimistic about. Fans have been spinning their wheels since the announcement trying to picture him in True Detective, but as of now there is one thing we’re missing: his thoughts. Technically we’re missing the thoughts of creator Nic Pizzolatto as well, but we were never very likely to get those in the first place since he rarely comments.
An interview in which Vaughn speaks to his thoughts and expectations could do a lot to put the fan-base and general media more at ease, though he is obviously not required to give one. In fact, it may even be in his best interest if he allows the performance to speak for itself. Vaughn seemed like the odd pick out of the bunch, but such a thing in the world of True Detective is no only precedented, it’s also half expected.

Outside of the official casting announcement, neither Colin Farrell nor Vince Vaughn has talked about the show. It’s worth remembering, however, that it was Farrell that first broke the news to the world. Perhaps a sort of reactionary muzzle has been placed since then, as it’s unlikely that HBO was pleased with the announcement being made before they had the chance to give it.
Hopefully as get closer and closer to that January premiere date the cast will be able to open up a bit about their roles in the show, but for now everything is quiet and tightly controlled by HBO. Are you satisfied with the casting thus far? Would an interview help you open up a bit more?
