Report: True Detective Cast Expands
It just goes to show that you can’t anticipate anything with True Detective until it happens. Deadline is reporting that four more actors are up for roles, which follows the recent Taylor Kitsch self-announcement. Kelly Reilly (Sherlock Holmes, Calvary) is set to be a regular. Set to join her are Abigail Spencer (Suits,) Michael Irby (Almost Human,) and Leven Rambin (Hunger Games) are all up for recurring roles.

As you may have noticed, Rachel McAdams is nowhere in that list. We can’t be sure of what that means just yet, but nothing was heard after HBO publicly offered her the role. If she is still involved with the show, Irby is set to play her partner. HBO is quickly trying to tie up loose ends to begin production, and nailing down casting is a major way to do that.
True Detective news seems to come in bursts, and this is a big one. We’re heading into the home stretch now. Well, at least in terms of production ramp-up. If everything progresses smoothly from here on out season two jus might be able to make that January premiere after all. We’re still not holding our collective breaths, but it’s nice to see some major movement happening.
