The second season of the hit HBO series True Detective is right around the corner and it seems that Taylor Kitsch will indeed be involved in things.

No one knows when the new season of True Detective is going to air, but whenever the new episodes come around the cast is going to be ready to go. Already Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn have joined the show and a third actor had confirmed his involvement. Rumors were that Taylor Kitsch was going to be the third male lead on the series and he commented on that this weekend.

In an interview this weekend, Kitch confirmed that he is indeed in the second season cast of True Detective. Additionally, he noted how excited he was to get the role and be on a show he happens to love as a fan.

"Yeah, I’m really excited. I’ve just been prepping. It’s been almost a full year since I’ve been on camera, so I’m itching, man. I’m overdue. You’ve just got to grind it out. Even taking this year off was, I mean you want to work, but you also don’t want to just water it down and work for the sake of working. So, it was tough to sit a year out, keeping a finger crossed that I was going to get True [Detective]."

Kitsch went on to say that he was excited to meet with series creator and season two writer Nic Pizzolatto and that he couldn’t wait to get involved with the series.

The second season doesn’t have a tentative production start date yet, but whenever it rolls around things are sounding like they could be just as amazing as the inaugural season.
