First season True Detective director Cary Fukunaga is finished with his work on the series, choosing to take an executive producer role for the second season. But that doesn’t mean that he’s been taking any time off; his film Beasts of no Nation starring Idris Elba was picked up by Netflix and he’s currently working on a new adaptation of Stephen King’s IT.

For film fans, however, it’s good news that Cary Fukunaga has bene able to find time to make an appearance at the upcoming Tribeca Film Festival. According to Variety Fukunaga will appear in a one-on-one public conversation with James Schamus as part of Tribeca Talks.
It’s a great opportunity for fans of Fukunaga’s distinct style to get a closer look at what makes the man tick, but he hasn’t been too forthcoming with what it was like to work on True Detective. So don’t be expecting any major insights in that department.
Cary Fukunaga is only one of the guests featured in Tribeca Talks, as Tribecca will also be hosting Christopher Nolan, Brad Bird, and George Lucas. The Tribeca Film Festival is New York’s biggest film festival, so it’s worth your time whether you’re a fan of Cary Fukunaga or not.
The Tribeca Film Festival will take place April 15th through the 26th.
