Galavant’s Timothy Omundson gives his own take on the McConaughey.

Something weird is going on. Matthew McConaughey has always been a boon for the amateur celebrity impersonator. Just fire off the trademark “alright, alright, alright,” and you’ve got it. Now, however, multiples stars are giving us their own version of Matthew McConaughey. A fun, yet strange, trend is starting.

More from HBO

We previously saw a Matthew McConaughey impression from The Walking Dead’s Ross Marquand. He is able to fully embody McConaughey in just a couple of seconds, but to be fair, he is a bit more skilled than your average impersonator. Or drunk uncle. Now, in conversation with Entertainment Weekly, Galavant’s Timothy Omundson takes a crack at the McConaughey. And he nails it.

Check it out here.

His version is bit more gruff and earthy, but it is no less Matthew McConaughey. For those with a long memory, Omundson was also in Deadwood. We’ve now seen an alarming number of Matthew McConaughey impressions in a very short span of time. It would really only take one more celebrity to officially label this as some sort of “happening.”

Besides the McCoanugehy impression, the clip is fairly pedestrian. We do learn at least learn that Omundson is a fan of The Simpsons, so there’s that. The impression doesn’t even come until the very end, but it is so powerful that it takes hold of the entire clip. A clip which, by the way, is overstuffed with other clips that reference everything Omundson says.

Next: It's okay to look forward to True Detective season three.

The ball is in your court now, Keven Spacey.
