Matthew McConaughey Talks to Dogs in New Lincoln Commercial (Video)
A new Lincoln ad is here featuring Matthew McConaugehy, though it’s a bit different from the rest.
The Matthew McConaughey Lincoln commercials have provided us with gold. Lincoln is quite aware how well the ads have done in the past, and they have expressed an eagerness to continue working with him. Unfortunately, the newest ad moves away from the version of Rust Cohle that Mcconaughey had been using in the past.
The new commercial is targeted more at families so it’s no quite as ridiculously philosophical as the past ones. Even though that’s a shame, there is still something to having Matthew McConanaughey have a conversation with a couple of dogs. Watch it below:

It’s a far cry from the other Lincoln commercials he has been in, but at least we get to see McConaughey’s new look. Frankly, his wild-man beard and untamed locks will be missed. The close-cut Matthew McConaughey doesn’t really do it. Oh, well.
It will be interesting to see if Lincoln permanently changes course for the new ad campaign and shows Matthew McConaughey has more of an ever-man. Because average people have dogs too, don’t you know, and they also have space in their car to cater to them. It’s been a wild ride watching these ads evolve, but hopefully they lean more towards the “I can’t believe this car commercial is taking itself so seriously” territory in the future.
Because, really, that’s what it’s all about.

This is likely just the beginning of the new campaign and we’ll see more ads later on. Here’s hoping they, and Matthew McConaughey, continue to entertain.
