Colin Farrell Finally Gets Some Love From Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
The new trailer for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is here, and it brought Colin Farrell with it.
As was previously reported, a new trailer for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them premiered during the MTV Movie Awards last night. It turns out that it really was worth the wait, as this is by far the best trailer so far. Oh, and Colin Farrell is actually in it.
Let’s get right to it:
More from HBO
- HBO expects House of the Dragon season 2 release in summer 2024
- HBO delays three hit shows to 2025 but one big show is still coming in 2024
- Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty will end its run on HBO
- Winning Time season 2, episode 7 recap: “What Is and What Should Never Be”
- Winning Time season 2, episode 6 recap: “Beat L.A.”
The trailer opens with a Colin Farrell voiceover giving us a little back story on Eddie Redmayne’s character, Newt Scamander. Colin Farrell’s character, Percival Graves, informs us that Newt has been kicked out of Hogwarts but has the friendship of one Albus Dumbledore. The trailer presents us with a delightful take on New York City, and we dare you not to get chills when the familiar Harry Potter theme kicks in.
We get a few shots of Farrell throughout the trailer. including one with him casting what looks to be a nasty spell. His is, after all, an Auror. Near the end we can hear him ominously say “no human can do what this thing is capable of.” What he’s talking about is not clear, though he could be referring to Newt’s briefcase.
It’s almost a relief to actually get some more Colin Farrell in a Fantastic Beasts trailer. They have seemingly been keeping him hidden until now, though he does have a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it scene in the first trailer.
Next: The Doctor Strange trailer is coming soon.
Fantastic Beasts won’t be here until November, so there will be plenty of time to tease out more details. Between then and now there will be at least one more trailer, perhaps even two. Fantastic Beasts will likely prove to be a juggernaut at the box office, as fans have been waiting a while for more Harry Potter. Not that he’s even in this one, of course.
