Game of Thrones episode 705 preview: “Eastwatch”

We enter the final three episodes of Game of Thrones season 7, with episode 705, “Eastwatch.”

Last week’s episode of Game of Thrones — “The Spoils of War – – gave us one heck of a shocking thrill-ride. And now, we’re wondering what HBO’s flagship series will do as a follow-up to not only another heartwarming Stark family reunion but also, a fiery climactic battle that we’ll never forget.

In the preview for Sunday night’s all-new episode of Game of Thrones, we can see “Eastwatch” will pick up where “The Spoils of War” left off. Check it out:

There are two great quotes here to unpack. First, Daenerys Targaryen is getting tired of everyone’s shit, because Westeros isn’t  taking her serious enough, and so, she decided to unleash Drogon and the Dothraki Horde on the Lannister loot train. A great victory, to be sure, but what does a conqueror — riding a dragon, by the way — say after they’ve just won a great victory?

“Bend the knee, or die.”

Okay, Dany, I think it’s time to retire that phrase because it hasn’t aged well. The preview for “Eastwatch” doesn’t give us many clues as to what the defeated Lannister forces will do, but we sure do hope Ed Sheeran and that sweet kid who loved his dad, bend the knee. Make the right choice, you guys, dragon fire hurts! The second quote comes from Davos Seaworth:

“Bad things are coming.”

Davos has been on point this season with stating the obvious, and he’s obviously not wrong here. Westworld character Bran Stark is going to figure out the Winterfell wifi password and surf the weirwoodnet, trolling the King’s Landing message boards and watching the Night King’s slowly approach Eastwatch-by-the-sea in real time.

The last time Bran figured out the wifi password, Hodor got inception’d and we all called into work the next day to cry ourselves into a coma. But, it looks like this time around, Bran doesn’t get a virus, and he’s going to fire off an email to Jon with a link to the Night King’s approach.

Bad things are literally coming to the Night’s Watch castle for which the episode is named.

Earlier in the week, HBO released eight photos from “Eastwatch,” that mainly focus on the happenings at Dragonstone, and this one amazing photo of Jon Snow in his glorious, billowy cloak.

Gottdam ladies! The King in the North is rocking that regal walk, with a smoldering look on his face, and his “I’m so awesome” cape. Jon Snow is currently single (for now), and loves long walks on beaches with friends, and caves. He really likes caves.
