In this day and age, there are so many superheroes that a lot of them are forgotten when it comes to adapting their stories onto the big screen.

However, there are plenty of heroes left that deserve their own television shows to highlight how compelling they can be. So many of these superheroes have the opportunities to become positive role models or a relatable figure for viewers who are searching for them.

25. Northstar

Jean-Paul Beaubier is one of the most iconic superheroes for LGBTQ readers as one of the first gay characters in comic books. He’s also the very first to ever have a same-sex marriage depicted inside of a comic book panel rather than just acknowledged in an off-hand remark. There aren’t a lot of heroes that represent readers dealing with their sexuality in a healthy way, and Northstar would be a great addition to the Marvel television roster.

Both of the big comic book moguls have striven to diversify their lineups by altering long-standing characters to make steps in the right direction. However, why just change characters when there are already unique and strong heroes in the Marvel universe that deserve recognition.

Like most superheroes, his parents die in an unfortunate accident when he’s a young child. However, Beaubier ends up losing his sister in the accident when she is adopted by a different family. Sadly, his adoptive parents also die, and Beaubier becomes even more rebellious. When his mutant powers of super flight, speed, stamina, and endurance manifest, he loses his only hobby as well due to the lack of competition.

Despite his traumatic childhood, Northstar grows up to be a hero to be admired. He’s exactly the kind of role model that LGBTQ youth need in this day and age, especially because he’s proud of his sexuality even when he feels like an outsider. With a lot of teens begging for more representation in genre shows, Northstar would be the perfect character to headline his own series.
